* Low Metallicity - +25% energy - This star has unusually low concentrations of elements it can't fuse, rendering it more energetic compared to other stars.
* High Metallicity - +25% minerals - This star has unusually high concentrations of elements it can't fuse, leaving it dimmer but ultimately longer-lived.
* Plasmoid Life - +100% society, +10% migration attraction - Somehow, life comprised entirely of plasma has managed to evolve on this star.
* Unusually Dense - +75% engineering, -10% habitability - This star has a high mass for its size, resulting in a higher density and thus a stronger gravitational field.

I was also imagining that some sort of extremely expensive gravity negation technology would remove the habitability malus from compact stars.
...Probably thinking way too far ahead in assuming that stars would become colonizable
Fortress World: This planet appeers ordinary from orbit, but below the surface are massive and nearly inpenatrable fortresses spanning most of this planet's surface. Although the metals used in the installation are useless to us, there is much to learn from this incredible building.
Minerals -75% Engineering +100% Physics +100%
Maybe for that one (if you can) there could be an event making a building that's a really powerful planetary shield generator.
Artificial Core: This world should have died long ago after the core froze and the magnetic field died, but a massive installation in the planet's core, made by a particularly powerful precursor empire somehow keeps the planet spinning and the magnetic field active.
Physics +50% Society +50% Engineering +50%
Recent Nuclear War: This planet's inhabitants seem to have had a nuclear war as little as 100 years ago, but nanites, built by who could be a fallen empire, in it's glory days in this galaxy keep this world perfect in every way.

Flavor Modifiers
Haunted*
Whether true or not, superstitious types believe that this planet, once inhabited according to legend, is host to a number of malevolent spirits.
Strange Statue*
A colossal statue, so large it can be seen from space. Who built it, and why, no one knows.
Dark Skies
Even during daylight hours, this planet receives paltry amounts of sunlight.
Eternal Sunshine
Due to it's physics, this planet has significantly more daylight hours on average than night hours.
Melancholy Atmosphere
Though it doesn't necessarily affect anyone or anything on the planet, the scenery and landscape here just feels so sad for some reason.
Mysterious Atmosphere
Something just seems… odd. As if it were quiet. Too quiet. But there's no objective evidence anything is wrong.
Strange Water Color
Due to various chemical processes, this planet's water is of unusual color hues. It does not affect the water's quality but it is a sight to behold.
Famous Grave*
This was where a famous figure in galactic history passed away. They say their spirit still haunts this site.
A Noise*
Most claim that if you stand anywhere on this planet's surface and listen carefully, you'll hear a mysterious, haunting noise. Our scientists have not been able to determine where the noise comes from, and it appears to be harmless, but something just seems off….
Rainbow Skies
For various scientific reasons too complicated to explain here, the skies on this planet are frequently changing colors.
Large Column*
On this planet, a giant column made of an unknown material rises to the skies. We do not know who made it, and it seems indestructible. Mysterious, it looms over and watches all.
Pastoral Meadows [Continental, Alpine, Tundra, Tropical, Savanna worlds only]
The landscape of this planet is littered with peaceful, picturesque meadows filled with beautiful, colorful flora as far as the eye can see.
Mediterranean Landscape [Continental, Ocean, Tropical, Savanna, Arid worlds only]
Large portions of this planet have a so-called Mediterranean climate - a mild, agreeable climate, and one that is full of beautiful coastlines and rolling hills.
---------------------------------------------
Non-Flavor Modifiers
Musical Creatures +10% society research, +5% migration attraction
The fauna and flora of this planet have evolved to communicate with each other using what we recognize as musical notes. It is not only a boon for researchers, but also lends the world a nice melodic quality to it.
Odd Cloud Shapes +5% physics research
Perhaps due to this planet's atmospheric chemistry, it's clouds often take on unusually vivid, interesting shapes. Some say it's almost as if the clouds are alive.
Giant Blobs
Massive slime molds inhabit this planet, roving the landscape for food. They do appear to have some semblance of sentience.
Archipelago of Oases +5% food, +5% habitability (Desert, Arid, and Savanna planets only)
Despite its hot climate, this planet has a rather high distribution of oases and waterholes scattered across it.
Semi-Intelligent Gas
Various species made of pure gas inhabit this planet. With some work, they might be tamed and have different applications, whether in agriculture, industry, or even the military.
[Four variations: agriculture, industry, military, or tourism - random event will fire once planet is colonized, asking player to determine what the Gas will be used for. If agriculture, +10% food; if industry, +5% minerals and -10% construction time; if military, increase planet health or something; if tourism, +10% migration attraction and alien migration attraction and +5% happiness. These four variations will replace the initial basic modifier that has no bonuses or maluses.]
Polycephalous Animals [Tomb World only] +5% society research
Due to high levels of radiation, many animals on this world have evolved to have multiple heads.
---------------------------------------------
Tile Blockers
Ghost Town
Perhaps built by precursors or a civilization long lost, the ruins of an old city dot this landscape. It is filled with traps and all sort of dangers.
Precursor Landfill
This area appears to have been used as a landfill for a precursor civilization. It is full of dangerous chemicals and machines.
Dangerous Weather
Because of this planet's climate, this part of the world is prone to unstable dangerous weather. Large-scale atmospheric manipulation and terraforming will be needed if this region is to be settled.
Blob Herds
The giant slimes that inhabit this planet are particularly numerous here and though they are not hostile per se, their large numbers makes it difficult for any permanent settlement to be established. Putting them into large safari reservations will be an important step to controlling them.
Hazardous Air
The air in this part of the planet is ill-suited for life. Work must be done to purify it before it can be settled.
Old Minefield
A precursor civilization placed massive minefields here and forgot about it for some reason, perhaps during a war. Due to their advanced technology, it will take more effort than usual to clear them.
---------------------------------------------
New Army Types
Giant Blob
Creatures that are made up of masses of slime, now tamed as animals of war. They are trained to kill by turning their slime fluids acidic and decomposing enemies alive, though this means their handlers must keep a safe distance.
Gas Creatures
These semi-intelligent beings of gas have now been tamed by our military. They attack by suffocating and choking enemies.
