Or if the DLL source code is released, I will directly use the latest version of the game (ie R&F, but future expansion too) for my DLL mods.
But I'm not satisfied by the base game, not that it is "bad", but because it's not what I personally want from a Civilization game.
To keep my answer short, until I can mod it to what I want it to be, I see it as a waste of money (mine or someone else in case of a gift) to get any expansion or DLC.
Now, I'm not working alone on R.E.D, most if not all compatibility mods were not made by me, and even if I don't own R&F immediately, maybe ITcore, GeloDGreat or another modder will provide a version for R&F soon after its release.
