I would also like to know this. I understand WHY it was done, but it would be nice to have the option to turn it off and make it like it was before.

I also would like to have that option. My friends and myself are running a small private server. This new feature rendered the mod kind off useless to us, part of having the weird demand numbers-bug.

As long as the system is not completely finished, i'll not add any option to criple it. Only this way i can ensure to get enough feedback from you guys. Even if i get feedback like this which doesn't help at all, it's still feedback..

ok well issue I am having atm is that we are on a high resource server and currently we are finding it unusable I know its in development still but at this stage no one is able to do anything with it its instantly sold out same with selling and when I deleted the file like people said in comments my server players could by the resources for free while not using any coins :) hopefully this can be finished soon as i love this mod

Like the above, my group also plays on a high resource server (Annunaki) and three of our players have actually put in a great deal of time building egg farms, taming Sasquatches, and building production facilities in order to farm coins. They amount of time they have spent has been considerable, but now they aren't able to make use of the mod. I'm sure that this change will be appreciated on large servers with many many people and the chance of having something resembling an actual economy, but on smaller servers (which are numerous) this is not great. The feature to turn off demand would be nice, or just having the former version posted seperately in the workshop would be nice as well (and many mod creators do this, if nothing else to avoid alienation). Forcing a change is in and of itself alienating.

And to be fair, feedback stating that the addition of an option to revert because your previous work is both used and appreciated is great feedback.

no one wants this timer on our sever. we all put a lot of time into our farms to get coins for buy things and research. now its all useless.... we need an option in the tables to set our own timers or sell limmits.

Same. Plus, the server admin has control over sell/buy amounts through the .ini files anyways. If they feel that their players are taking advantage of fiber farms (or others) they can just change the sell value. In a way, the server admin already has control over how many coins the players can get through selling. This seems like something that should be left to the server admin and not forced, especially since it it so buggy at the moment. We have already deleted the save file for the mod several times and we are still getting demand values of -millions on all items. We have even tried removing the stacking mods for testing and it didn't fix the issue.

Hey Impulse i just want to say that your mod is awesome but before you update it with the new thing (demand/supply) you should have tried it previously and save you all these problems. Or at least put an option for those who are not interested. I really hope you improve this and make things better.

I run a 5x harvest rate PVE server. After this change was made it has made the mods unuseable for us as people are getting nothing in return for their time and harvesting efforts - making them unable to earn gold to purchase anything from the buy tables. This breaks the mod for us. I understand your reason for not wanting to "criple it" as you stated, but that is exactly what you have done for some of our servers. The feedback you DO get will only be from high pop servers that can handle the economy. PLEASE consider the request of those of us who are asking simply for an option to not cripple our servers by your change. We love your mods and they have been part of our server for a very long time. Thank you for considering.

TOTALLY AGREE
As you wish feedback I will write you my general thoughts here:

The new system seems to be good for competitive, e.g. pvp play where you can balance small shortages.
I see it very problematic for relaxed pve based games that use your mod to avoid resource grinding and/or that are modded and therefore rely on resources you would normally not use to that extend (Angler Gel for the Photon Rifle or Rare Flower for Ark Advance).
On my server on which I am alone, I have build a pretty big base made of glass. Therefore I bought 100.000s of metal and chitin which would have taken weeks to gather.

The recent changes literally took the base of my way of playing, so I would also would love to have a switch in the config that would enable me to go back to the old trading system. Also in the new system it would be helpful to adjust resource refresh rates and stock levels via config, so that each admin can setup the mod has he needs it.


Also, from my business experience, I would advice you to make a copy of your mod as experimental version to test things publicly instead of working live on your "productive version". The feedback you get mostly consists of unhappy users that are not interested in giving you constructive feedback. They want everything as it was, no matter whether it is their work environment or their ark mods. :D

@Muschel[Ger], things like that happen if there is no staging capability provided by steam and i'm myself in a hurry to develop this stuff and without a QA department that will have to have the time to maybe copy the whole capitalism series to test it on a separate server. But yeah as you said it's no longer easy mode and this for almost 5 days now... that's like an apocalypse for the people. It's not even crashing their server or corrupting savegame files, but they are currently not able to get easy money and resources... truly like an apocalypse.

@all, This mod was always only indended as a means to get the economy started, so to say the trade between players and NOT to heavily relying on circumventing resource grind and getting them too easy. If you want to use this currency and to further use the EASY MODE, then you could create your own mod with using this: How to use this currency in your own mod without creating a dependency

I hope someone takes the iniciative to make it like before. Small servers economy are Dying. This mod is so great that has become vital part of most of servers, but, at the same time, most of servers dont have enough players to get this new idea running. Thanks for providing the tools so someone else can get our economy running again. Good luck with the new proyect.
