Mount & Blade: Warband

Mount & Blade: Warband

Prophesy of Pendor v3.9.5
Early-game rebalance
I get that the mod is supposed to be hard, but the initial quest you can pick up wherever you start has you invading a hideout occupied by at least two or three enemies who can comfortably solo your entire strike force and shouldn't be showing up until mid to late game! This isn't so much a difficulty curve or expected escalation as it is an impossible wall to overcome, especially if you have the ill fortune to start in the Fierdsvane!

I havent had a problem with it. Bring a bunch of men, swarm them. Works everytime. Most get killed off and saves you a huge unit wage when ur finished.

See, that'd work except for the thing where when you attack a stronghold, you're limited to like 8 guys.
just for reference I saved my game Hired the Noldor Assassin companion ( 6k ) and went in with the average troops aswell (3 trained militia, 1 skirmisher and Ansen ) and me, first wave all good since Noldor one shots them, in comes the highish level troops they kill everyone... (Im not the greatest player but still), my level was around 6-7 ansen was 4-5 and the noldor assassin started at 42

"... the initial quest you can pick up wherever you start ..."
POP it a full conversion mod which means you can't play it like native Warband.

So called "Merchant's Family Member Quest" is initial/tutorial in Warband. In POP this is just a quest, NOT initial/tutorial. It is harder to complete, but it gets more XP and better loot.

It is totally optional, no one forces player to complete it at level 1. Try it when you think you are ready, or simply skip if it is not our cup of tea.

When I searched the wiki, it claimed that it would vanish after a few days of play. This coupled with the requirement to gather a group of five people and the general scarcity of early-game content (especially if you started as the heir of Pendor, good god only Fierdsvain and D'shar on friendly terms what the hell) lead me to conclude it was an early-game quest.

Wiki is run by POP fans, nor POP devs - it may not be always 100% accurate. In my current game I took this quest when 3 months passed. Besides even if 1st part is accepted, "collect 5 men" one, it has no time limit.
i gotta agree with early game rebalence, i just had my entire army of 60 empire recruits wiped by 3 snake cult knights, i tried a new game somewhere else and as soon as i started i immediatly got chased by 3 40 stack knight armies with 6 speed then enslaved, after escaping i immediatly got chased and enslaved again. its literally impossible to do anything.

Ive done a few play thrus and ive never had any of these problems. With a small army in the begining i out ran everything and only foughjt the small battles i kne i could win. You cant expect to kill mid and high tier troops with recruits which are some of the lowest.
