By 'cut' part, I assume you mean the little triangle of white in the eyes. If so, that probably wouldn't be possible without going away from the aesthetic of the game, which is based on the old Disney style, from the Steamboat Willie days. It was very much like the 'eye shine' of Japanese anime, where part of the pupil is 'cut' to show that there is light reflecting.

Wait, are you talking about the eye-shine or the little thing that makes his eyes look 'happy'? Because if you're talking about the eye-shine, I don't recall that being a feature of the first model...

The triangle cut in the eyes that makes him look like he's looking to his right. There's an option for the eyes to be full without those cuts on that model... but the Lenny features kinda get in the way.

Pretty sure the Lenny was meant to be a joke... and I'm also pretty sure that it has its own flex now.
