I wholeheartedly disagree completely, on two accounts.

1) This was solely a promotional item as a "thank you" from Fallout developers for preordering their game, all who did pre-order received a Genuine Quality Pip-Boy. This is already in the game, and putting basically another cosmetic item into the game will piss nearly everyone off.

We. Want. Weapons.

Also, the Strongboxes aren't related to The End of The Line, why would it make any sense that the Pip-Boy would be part of The End of The Line? It's a Bethesda's Fallout thing. Not a VALVe thing.

2) An update would allow the Pip-Boy to be used in the PDA slot, not-so-many players would be angry at this, since hey: More cosmetics and you can still wear the glorious Pip-Boy! But, the downside is for the people that have a Strange PDA, they will not enjoy this if they use the Pip-Boy within their cosmetic loadout.


TL;DR: No, it shouldn't be put into Strongboxes. It makes virtually no sense since it is not related to The End of The Line, neither are the Boxes. If it were to come through this crate, it would be Strange, and I'm almost-certain there's an agreement between VALVe and the Game creators that they aren't allowed to use Promotional Items to make money. (I.E Strange Pip-Boy, but by-♥♥♥♥♥♥♥-god, I'd love one.)

Since Pipboy is a cosmetic PDA, perhaps it should be changed to be able to be placed in both Misc and PDA independently for those people who want to use their strange PDA

there are unique versions, as well as genuine versions, so there is no sense in putting it in another crate.
about the few people who have strange - why should some great work not make it into the game because of some rich bastards that got some premium stranges? valve can add strangifiers for pip boy. everybody is happy.
