The nailgun was scouts primary in the tf2 beta. It would make sense for it to be a pistol. I think just for scout

A reliable, ranged bleeding effect? The only other ranged bleeding effects in the game; the Wrap Assassin and the Flying Guillotine; have fairly decent cooldowns to prevent them from being broken.

The old TF scout still had the shotgun with his nailgun, and a few other classes wielded this as a secondary too. I think it should be used as secondary for Scout, Engie and Sniper.

well uh lets see... valve wanted scout to have a smg for a primary in the beta so then the nail gun might be a secondary so not exactly for sniper

Actually (I may be wrong), it is TFC
TFC and TF2 Beta both had nailguns

valve wanted scout to have an smg for a primary if you do some research it would tell you so its not a primary its a secondary
