Gerkon's Beginner's Guide for the Public PVP Server
This is a guide thoughtfully made for new players that answers some basic questions we have been asked a lot.
All Credit and Many Thanks to him for this resource.

Tips for beginners.

0. know your factions!
Killing stalkers on your same faction is NOT ALLOWED!

Duty - fully black unforms with red spots on elbows and boots (red duty patch on one of the arms (big word "DUTY" in russian on the back of the uniform(usally covered by a backpack.)))

Freedom - fully green with a camo pattern (freedom patch on one of the arms.)

monolith - urban camo pattern (the only faction with urban camo...)

bandits - black top with blue pants/green military sweater top with light brown pants.(no patch for sweater, skull patch on the arm for black top)

loners - fully green/brown/light brown uniforms (loner patch on the left and right arms)

1. U - is for your PDA (doesn't work? open the inventory and put the PDA in a GPS slot.)

in your PDA you can see your thirst and hunger levels under Dossier, message history, as well. You can send messages but there is a cooldown timer to prevent spam.

2. if it's your 1st time playing on the server you will have 50.000$ to get you started (note: if you switch faction you will lose all your gear and money so remember which faction you started as.)

3. to check your vitals go to your inventory and press on the red russian word that says "Диагностика"
There is medical information in your PDA but this is left over from our old design, now it only tells you relevant Radiation levels and perhaps blood-loss.

4. the only 2 ways to get stuff is to get items off a dead man or to buy them.

5. to get money you need to do one of the following:

a) kill someone from the other faction and take there patch (loners are neutral so you don't get any money from them unless you are from monolith or a bandit.)

b) go out and hunt mutants

c) collect artifacts

(note: to collect a patch or mutant parts equip a knife and press spacebar next to the body. (P.S. the list is coming, made from the most to less valuable.))

6. if you start bleeding out of nowhere that means you got radiation. (if it's a small amount it will go away by it self in a short amount of time, if it doesn't use anti radiation drugs then bandage your head (vodka works as well but you get drunk as a small debuff for using it.))

7. to avoid taking this much radiation buy a dosimeter (when bought press T) to know how much radiation is in the area where you are standing (note: if you were in any radiation and safely left the area the dosimeter will show it's last scanned result, so don't freak out if it stops changing and never drops to 0.)

8. to get through radiation you need a gas mask (note: different gas masks can hold off different amounts of radiation don't forget that.)

9. if you are really bad with navigating in arma 3 you better off finding a team of English speaking people so they can do it for you. (Other vise you will be lost all the time because there is no GPS in this mod.)

10. if you can't drink or eat you probably got a gas mask on your face so take that thing off...

11. to sell items at the trader scroll down on the trader there will be a "sell items" option. (note: traders only buy mutant parts, artifacts, and patches of your enemy factions.)

12. you can try and trade with other players the items you will no longer use (like your old AK-74 that you won't use because you got(or going to buy) a better gun.) for money but as an English speaker that will be hard for you to do.

13. if the rumors on the server are correct most of the English speaking people are in Freedom faction and some are Loners. (And by my personal account Duty seams to be 100% Russian.)

14. Good luck out there Stalker...

Whenever i'm in the forest and some areas i get blood on my screen and all my limbs get damaged from what looks to be literally nothing. It killed my friend and me as we lost blood, used 20 bandages and blood bags and morphine, you name it. A second time was near the loner base camp where i was walking and kind of just flopped over with no anomaly in sight. Is the all limb damage radiation and should be treated like you said?

I started on Freedom but a few people I talked to suggested the switch to "Duty".There are very few english speaking people in Freedom, but apparently an english speaking community in Duty.

TL;DR: Apparently Duty has more english speaking ppl than Freedom.

English speaking: Duty > Freedom

*feel free to correct me if I´m wrong :MrFoster:

I also heard the same as lightness, and have been informed that 3 main groups of english speakers exist in duty, trying to find them myself.
