Great words Uncle Boom! I've been following the mod for a week now, watching russian gameplay videos of the official RP server, catching up on development, and I've been impressed. It's frustrating to see that some try to slap Exile and ArmStalker together to make an abomination server. The truth is I'd love to get into a server like the one your community has made, but I know the situation, and I know that patience is the only solution for the time being.

No doubt. All opinion here too, but as a player myself I wonder what happened to Namalsk for instance. If someone were to use the mod after actually contributing to Arma itself - in the same way the team did.... and THEN claim that they are Stalker Fans and they just love Stalker and Arma.... what could anyone say? .... Fact is - its some Dads - spending every weekend for months trying to strip away bits and prop it up with Exile - the philosophical nemesis of ArmStalker - the casual, not hardcore, eat a can of joke food for your joke life in the joke mod that spawns loot a little different, and had some hype around it thanks to some pretty creative marketing. CCG marketed that mod with Frankies videos - i mean - what else can we call it? ..... did you know in the months after - all resources for Esseker Exile templates and starters was removed from Exile's forums? .... Out of spite for the mountain of old posts asking, pleading, even demanding a server like "Frankies"? ... however.... that was new.

That was CCG - Their Community, Their modpack, their server development. ........... This is ArmStalker. Any server other than the Russian ones, RU Role Play and "vk.com / arma3stalker" in it's name.... Those servers purely exist to rip out the best bits of our client side modpack - and use it to copy/paste our community... Due to the fact that there seems to be little English Speaking Player involvement.... WE, I, am that involvement. I have been here for a year helping people, writing posts, going after any misinformation I find best I can. I even tried to take it to a youtuber with half a million subs at the time, had thousands of hate messages for defending our team, the years of hard work by Devs and Administrators, and indeed - our AWESOME players. .... Plain and simple - these fakes are disgusting hacks that don't give Arma anything - they are trying to beat Me, and ArmStalker Official - to some "English Role Play"..... Thats all this is. If they get the players, they will start accepting donations, for WHAT - staying at home, coveting our server and indeed the support of our community.

...... This is about money guys. ArmStalker mentioned in a FOOTNOTE, of just ONE post last fall - that the team were tired of paying for the RP server and they were looking at options..... Our community was buzzing so much, they voted to hold a donation..... 24 hours they had 3 times the amount they needed to buy a High Performance server of our Own. ....... It's about money. Giving you the Stalker experience, using ArmStalker, ArmStalker Guns, ArmStalker Gear, ArmStalker Mutants, ArmStalker Map.... "New ArmStalker Features, Coming soon!" .... NO creativity ZERO, just trying to capitalize on the lack of a playground for people at the moment. ...... Well..... I'm trying to change things on our end. Stay Tuned Yall.

By the way - it is not hard to find info about joining the VK arma3stalker server either... if you all wanted to play and you have a few braincells, you can translate the page, get the mods, get added to the whitelist, and see a REAL UNIQUE server using a modified ArmStalker. Using Wasteland from the looks of it! ...Don't believe people who say that there are no options to play right now if you wanted.

I dont get what the big deal is, everyone will play on the official servers once they are up, throwing a tantrum because 10 - 20 people got a sneak peak of a stripped down version of it two weeks ahead of time is completly unnecerary imo.

Vimes - I can tell you must not have experience with Modding Communities, Gaming Communities, or Community Leadership - but that still doesn't excuse your remark about a tantrum. This is a place where people communicate - if that makes you uncomfortable - or leads you to make snap judgements about others - WITHOUT READING - .... You are simply not worth anyones time. I've made my points, sanely and pretty fairly in my approximation, of course after insisting that we call these servers what I believe they ARE - in my own Opinon Article. The fact of the matter is that a mod has been uploaded publicly to Steam Workshop without any servers backed by the actual devs. (Or, rather, the only server backed is so exclusive to Russian speakers that everyone has to be whitelisted personally.) So, naturally, people are going out of their way to set up their own servers to play on. Until a public server is set up, there's only going to be more community run servers that get hosted even if it means they're running a gimped version of the mod. People just want to be able to play and have fun, and all the community run servers cropping up is simply a side effect of not having any "official" servers. We all know the fix to that.

People are leaving because they are casuals. Coincidentally, Casuals - who walk in half baked, read nothing, make a airheaded post, and come off half ♥♥♥♥♥♥ at my tip of the hand - tend to think I'm an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ as well. It's because we don't MIX, you and I. You likely are not an Arma 3 Community Member - and if you ARE - you aren't a Community Leader, or even some lame excuse for an "owner" - even if you WERE you still have never been within 600 meters of even playing on a server that is this hardcore. Huge, Total Conversion mods made IN HOUSE, envy of many due to the quality of the work, tons of effort and time by your friends and people you respect - being openly treated with contempt - and then being personally criticized for making a POST - on our forum - defending the community in the face of it's detractors who try to use it for their own financial gain and notoriety...

It's fine - I get that reading information and thinking about the different perspectives around a subject might invoke your rage - but never the less it goes without saying that my opinons make a better point of the situation regarding rip off boot leg servers created by thugs and dweebs who only want to suckle on your idea of fun and community using other peoples work. Only other peoples' work. I am not one of those people running this Community of ArmStalker - you might note that I am not listed as a creator, I am a community representative and I share information in English language about the mod.... my opinion is absolutely valid on this subject.

This is not a crusade - it's not untethered to the reality that some try to explain about casuals and the servers they want - it's a needed entry on a current topic from a person close to the source. ....Calling me a name is pointless, as pointless as it is to try to tar our Community with this name you call me. But hey you aren't the first and won't be the last so - welcome i guess.

Hey Boom. I was going to apply for the RP server the other day when they posted it on the Vkontakte page, but I suddenly became ill (we think it is just bronchitis) so I didn't feel like attempting to personally translate my entire backstory and, being someone that studies languages, I know better than to use things like Google Translate. What would you suggest in case something happens next month as well? I mean I doubt it, but still translating massive paragraphs like that while I'm still not 100% fluent would be difficult. Do you think I should put my story in both English and Russian or something in case I make grammatical mistakes? How did you get whitelisted with a limited knowledge of the Russian language?

I know the open server is coming soon, but I would really like to RP as an American working with a research team. My wife is even considering RPing as well. Either way we'll definitely be on the open server when it releases.
