You need to know the rules, number 1, and number 2 you need to have an interest in Russian Language to join the RP server - at least a casual interest. I say this because you will be around it constantly, we English speakers are a rare breed in there. That said, I constantly meet people in TS and in the Server who speak English to some level, and most of our players are very polite and interesting people. Learn what you can from the website - in the English section there.
Thanks for the info.
Ironically, I bought "Influent" so I could get a better grasp of the Russian language, but it's so off what I am used to (English and French) that it's odd for me to understand it, let alone the nuances such as their euphemisms. Obviously the same can be said for a non-English speaker to consider when learning a new language.
I am a pretty casual gamer, I normally stick to PvE/coop and single player games, if the options are available.
I'll hit up their forums and go from there, so expect to see machstem in some variation or another on their forums.
Thanks again for the input
I imagine that these will be explained as I get into the game, go through a manual of sorts? Not sure what grouping stalkers means (and factions)
I also don't understand 14.3
14. It is forbidden to associate / beat / kill members of friendly group, in case of unintentional murder, to apologize to the murdered (Exceptions protection from TeamKillers (Doc-va video)).
14.1. It is forbidden to use cheat programs, various cheat scripts and / or game bugs (badges / dupes) in order to obtain an unfair advantage, or to harm other players or the server as a whole.
14.2. It is forbidden to play with members of other factions (except - grouping stalkers).
14.3. It is forbidden to go to the server with the one selected in the profile, gas mask, mask, glasses and other accessories. (It is forbidden to use any accessories giving superiority in the game (glasses with green filters, etc.)).
14.4. It is forbidden to visit the bases of the warring factions (exc - grouping stalkers).
Thanks for your consideration

Machstem
Real First Name, Second Name, Father Name:
Ivan Mikhail Vasiliev
Appearance:
5’10, 180lbs slim build with muscular tone.
Description:
Quiet and calculating, never fully trusting of others but an asset to any stranger who crosses my path
Biography:
During the Iranian revolution of 1979, my mother was killed by insurgent military forces which left me and my father to seek refugee status in Canada. Shortly before being accepted, my father was murdered by his neighbor who had secretly been working with the insurgent forces.
Left on my own, I met with other orphans and eventually found my way out of war torn Persia, and onto a train that led me near the eastern European nations. I was brought in by a Ukranian couple who accepted me without hesitation. A lively couple who led simple lives on their farm.
Word came to a nearby village that the world had seen appear many Zones. The one in Nova Scotia, Canada had taken the scientific community by storm and not too long after many expeditions were had did the Ukrainian government decide to open its borders to allow for their own to survey the Zone contained within their lands.
My adoptive parents struggled to keep my interests in leaving for the Zone. Father kept me working hard but when fall and winter came, there was nothing for me but to imagine a life of solitude in an otherwise alien world. The stories we heard were fantastic, although some of the more horrific ones made it clear that the Zone didn’t take prisoners.
Shortly before my 19th birthday on November 12th 1989, I knew of two other boys who had talked about leaving on a military convoy meant to deliver rations to the armed forces on the beach that immediately led to the island. This Zone was set apart from the others which seemed to be focused on larger land masses.
I left a letter for my parents one cold November morning and met with the two boys. Boris and Vladimir became great friends on our journey. We taught ourselves the lore and gossip of the Zone. We prepared ourselves in self-defense and through some quick thinking on Boris’ part, we learned the fundamentals of arming ourselves with several types of weaponry.
Some time later, we learned of a small shipping container being sent to the island with the intent of delivering some weaponry for some of the soldiers stationed just within the perimeter of the Zone. All three of us boarded at night and found ourselves cold and wet, being trollied to the island.
We were within minutes of reaching the dock when a large blast was heard. The shippign container we were in was lifted from its cradle and tossed several kilometers into the Zone. I woke up several hours later, the sole survivor in this untamed land. My two newly acquired friends had both met their end, and both at such young ages.
So I left and now I am here, trying to find reason and meaning in a land that won’t let me leave...even if I wanted to.
It should be said straight away that this community is not really for casuals, certainly not people who prefer automatic cooperation or PVE. There is a fair amount of danger and specific issues that come along with other players, and a casual gamer is not going to stand a chance at understanding these situations and rules in such a way as to even participate with others - much less to help the Team in the instance of a dispute against other players - which is bound to happen.
.....I think you should stop by the Public PVP server and play a little bit there first. It will help you to get familiar with the mod, and to know more about the players - even with the few we have there these days. Most of them have some ettiquette and they are all friends, so it shouldn't be too hard to find people to show you around. ...as far as the rule you asked about - it's a pretty basic issue in arma, which will make itself a bit more apparent once you play on a server. The application is ok to start, but there are some large issues with it. Maybe when you try the mod a bit, and decide if you want to join a community of hundreds of players currently playing it in a server - we can talk more about it. Again - I really encourage people who are serious about joining to take their time, read the posts in the English section of the forum, and not to hurry.
Once the project is completed the Team hope to release it to be hosted on any server in the world. All that many people need to do is wait, and with some luck, our team will provide it to them to play, without the pesky need to understand the rules and standards of our community...
The website isn't curated correctly for any non-Russian speaking person and is incredibly difficult to parse considering the language barrier. There seems to be no real incentive for inclusion and instead keeps people at bay by forcing an application that forces role play, but the guidelines obviously have no effect on the result. So again, very pretentious and given that it's free, no real right to complain.
So I will avoid this like I do with every other community that drives its playerbase away by imposing strict rules that are neither "fair" or by any means comprehendable.
It seems a very toxic method of gaining a player base, and calling a person out for trying as "not being good enough for this server" is key to a disastrous undertaking.
I am all for large groups of people playing and even more-so for trying to have a good time playing. If the server relies on controversy rather than belonging, I may as well stick with Rust and its toxic community. I stopped playing Rust for the same reasons; inclusion meant very specific guidelines that rely solely on a couple peoples' interpretation of what is considered "ok to play with".
Have fun playing with yourselves, I guess.
You expected one-on-one consultation, posting here on Steam discussions claiming you couldn't find the registration posts on the forums, another clue that you were trying to speed in the "Slow-Down-And-Read" section of your journey, and you had some glaring spelling mistakes - which - I expect are mostly due to English not being your first language, but again shows the lack of care or preperation... This is an ADULT Role Play community for a custom server, with advanced rules and high amounts of drama, tension, and loss... you NEED to be ready with a good understanding of WHAT you are trying to do here. If you like the mod, but are not interested in the Community - "Wait" - Exactly what I told you.
And yet again - I get some self important western "English Speaker" popping off like I failed them, like I am not nice enough, like I don't deserve their consideration - after this complete lack of effort and understanding of WHAT our COMMUNITY is, much less the Mod or the Plans our team has for the future.
Your opinion weighs nothing, because you haven't made any investment at all to become a part of this community, you have barely played Arma 3 at ALL, so you really don't know anything about what is happening here. Even if you DID, you would look even worse. You an outsider - throwing a tomato at something you barely cared about at all in the first place. Later.
Кто ищет тот найдет.
