Arma 3
Faces of War
Piat Problem Since Update
Hi Giallustio et al,
First off, thank you for a great WW2 mod for Arma. We've had a lot of fun with it and appreciate the time and efforts of the FOW crew. Salute!
I've got a Germans vs Canadians mission I had worked up which was working fine until the last update. I am now getting the following error message and unable to play that mission on my server:
"no entry config.bin/cfg magazines\fow_1rnd_piat".
Any idea on what might be causing this problem?

Best regards, Odd

Piat was changed from "Launcher' slot to "Primary" slot

Hi QuickLoad, thanks for the reply, though I can't say that I understand how that solves my problem. Is there a workaround I can utilize to get the mission working again without crashing and booting me to the mission selection screen everytime I try to run it on my server?

I would suggest to try and find the people with PIATs in your mission, remove them and replace them hopefully it'll work

Yeah, I guess that's an "option" for me. But I was hoping I wouldn't have to look at each and every one of the 200 Canadians I laid down to see who still has a Piat and/or a Piat round(s) in their inventory.
I think I'll just delete all of 'em, see if the problem goes away and then start from scratch on the Canadian deployments.
As a mission maker for my group of friends who play Arma, I'm really developing a sense of dread everytime I see an "update" for a mod wondering if it'll impact previously made missions in a negative manner.

Open the mission.sqm with notepad.
Search for
fow_1Rnd_piat
and replace all with
fow_1Rnd_piat_HEAT

If you can't edit it, mase sure to save the mission in the editor disabling the "binarization" option.
It should be pretty quick and easy.

Giallustio

Hi Giallustio,
Thank you very much for providing the fix for it. I'll give this a whirl tomorrow!

Best regards, Odd
