So I've been messing with this, and as a Forgotten main, it's great, but there's a few things that I think should be done (small ones, mind you) to make the character feel a little more polished.

Firstly, while the scythe is still mid-swing, Samael should ALWAYS be looking in the direction of the swing. Currently, if you swing left by tapping an arrow key while moving upward, he will glance left, then swing the scythe while looking upwards. It would look better and have minimal gameplay impact if he continued looking left while swinging, similar to the Forgotten's bone club.

Second, I understand not wanting the melee attack to pick up items, but it feels odd that it doesn't affect them at ALL, so I think maybe applying a small backwards force on items when hit would make sense (so you'd swing at a coin and it'd fly away).

Third, the portrait of Samael when changing floors should be lying down so the thought bubble doesn't cover his face. Just for some consistency. I do like having him hugging the scythe, though.

That's it from me. All of these things are totally unnecessary but they would look and feel pretty cool. Thanks for the great mod!

Hi - thanks for the feedback!

1. Agreed, this is how I would have wanted it to be. Unfortunately I am not aware of a method of forcing the players' head to face a certain direction separately from the players' inputs, due to API limitations. I wouldn't be surprised if there's a way to do it, but there is no method explicitly provided by the API for the purpose of setting a player's head direction.

2. I think being able to knock away "good" pickups like coins and such would be more annoying than anything. I understand why some people like the idea of the scythe being able to pick up stuff or interact with chests, but I'm comfortable with the ways things are now. Partly because differences between Samael and the Forgotten are good to have, and also because it wouldn't be as simple as just "turning on" this functionality for Samael.

3. As of Repentance, the sprite used for the boss VS screen and the floor transitions are the same sprite. I used to have a different sprite for floor transitions, but to my knowledge I can't do that anymore. Not a huge loss since I like the VS screen sprite, but it is true that it clips into the dream bubbles, unfortunately.
