For reference, I voted against the Spring Skythe skin.

Simply put, there's a lot of stuff going on with the skin. It's not exactly in the same way as "too detailed," but more of an overabundance of different design choices.

This does create contrast, which is normally not that bad, and sometimes quite beneficial, but here none of it blends together. Everything seems to just oddly jut out, unfortunately.

I see radial and diagonal gradients, shading (and lighting), perspective (2D and 3D from the center point), and texture. There's some outlining it looks like, but it seems impartial, and may just be more of you trying to reinforce the perspectives?

What I'd have to say is the biggest con to this is the shading (and lighting) used w/ that sense of perspective on a lot of the cylindrical beams popping out, and that impartial "outline." It looks awkward in my opinion, and I feel like it'd detract more in-game when the normal lighting system is shining down on it. I think just doing a fuller outline would help get the contrast you want without having to do a texture versus flat blending and the 3D perspective stacked upon 2D perspective.

I, personally, think you should decide what the highlight of the skin should be. Everything sticks out too much, and there's no real clear focus.

I like the color choices, even though it reminded me of the Element A Nightraider as soon as I saw skin, and it's always cool to see people trying something new, but I think you've gone a bit overboard on creativity here.
