Full Mod Description
As the amount of features in this mod got bigger, having a full description of every feature on the front page became counter-productive. A full description of the features of this mod is as follows:

Dyson Ring

Previously, if you wanted to be able to build a Dyson Sphere and a Ringworld around the same star you either couldn't do it, or through mods that required that you build two separate projects, in a particular order. Now, this is no longer necessary! Once you have picked up the Master of the Heavens Ascension Perk, the new technology called "Advanced Megastructure Engineering" becomes available. Once you have researched that, the Dyson Ring megastructure is unlocked. Through this project, you are able to build a complete ringworld, plus a Dyson Core around the star, which functions the same as a Dyson sphere.

Machine Ringworlds

This feature requires the Synthetic Dawn Story Pack. Similar to the vanilla Machine Worlds, a Machine Ringworld Habitat is only inhabitable by Machine populations, and increasing the resource output of the pops on the Ringworld by 25%. In order to build a Machine Ringworld, you must be a Machine Empire, have the Machine Worlds Ascension Perk, and obviously The Circle of Life Ascension Perk. When you have both of these, Ringworld Megastructure projects will have a second upgrade option enabled at the final stage of construction, enabling you to choose how to finish the Ringworld - as a standard ringworld or as a machine ringworld. You can do this for the Ringworld upgrade projects, for ruined ringworlds, and for the Dyson Ring habitats.

Any other mod that changes scale will break Machine Ringworlds, making the sections appear shrunken and therefore disconnected. A common culprit is the ISBS series. Any comments asking about this will be ignored/deleted as I am sick of repeating myself. The (pinned) Compatibility thread is there for a reason. /rant end.

Fallen Empire Buildings

You can build Tier V resource buildings everywhere without restriction, so long as you have researched the vanilla technologies. The Fallen Empire (Tier VI) resource buildings can only be built on the following planets:
  • Your Capital Planet
  • Ringworlds
  • Gaia Worlds
  • Machine Worlds
  • Machine Ringworlds
However, in order to build Fallen Empire resource buildings, you will need to research a exceptionally rare and expensive technology per each building:
  • Superscale Industrial Automation: Unlocks Autonomous Fabricators. Requires Mineral Processing II tech to be researched.
  • Supercooled Energy Conduits: Unlocks Dark Matter Power Plants. Requires Dark Matter Mining tech to be research.
  • Artificial Environment Control: Unlocks Agri-Processing Complexes. Requires Nutrient Replication tech to be researched.

Ringworld Upgrades

After picking the Master of the Heavens Ascension Perk, you will gain the ability to build a Ringworld Upgrade Site, via the Megastructures menu, in any system that has a complete ringworld. This site initiates a Megastructure projects that upgrades the existing ringworld, adding more habitats. Currently, the Tier II Upgrade is ready for use, and the Tier III Upgrade is in development.

Ascension Perk Changes

Utopia Expanded modifies two existing vanilla Ascension Perks (mod compatibility warning). The changes are as follows:
  • Master Builders no longer requires that you have Galactic Wonders or Voidborne Ascension Perks in order to pick it, in order to avoid the situation where getting hold of the Mega-Engineering technology and/or building Megastructures in a timely fashion is basically impossible.
  • The Circle of Life Ascension Perk no longer requires that you get Voidborn first. Because who wants a Habitat when you can build a Ringworld? Also, Utopia Expanded doesn't do anything with Habitats so there is very little point locking the player into a single track path to Megastructures.
