Smooth out your mountains can help. And if you want making seperate maps on the continents.
Like a map of all Europe + asia like some guy suggested in the comments could make it better cause you can put more detail into the map.

WOW What a awsome map! i nevers see in arma 3 a map so diversificated in biomes and terrain i an sure this can be the best map of arma 3, to help your developer he some of my sugestions:
1- some of the countrys dont have any biome,hope in future add those biomes
2-the cities are very cool but too small and to few , hope in future add more cities and upgrade their visual
3-the montains are very ugly in the top need some work
4-would be great add some rivers like amazonas and congo
5-at least the capitals cities of importants countrys
6-i would be cool not just have cities but vilages industrys some kind of locations spread around the map , so we can do missions like invasions in(a nuclear facility in russia, a industry in germany,a port in brasil) not just missions in forests and the capitals
7-better mod in workshop that i see in mouths, i hope wee dont need no more maps just this to play every thing that wee want! thanks to the developers for this piece of gold, keep working!

I can see that only half of the map is being used, maybe you could expand the world so you have more room for adding cities, towns, ports as an example. Unless of course that would cause problems with playing it. But good job so far.
first off all nice work dude,
you could maybe try using the top part of the map more, it seems like there are 50KM to the top atleast when i tryed it. maybe get it more into scale abit like africa is just huge ( the normal maps that you maybe see in schools and stuff like that is entirely out of scale the youtube channel REalLifeLore made a vid about), or try and put the entire map at an angle so that america is in the top right and new zeland and stuff in the bottom right, also i would like to play around and test stuff in the editor abit myself with this just great map , if there is an option you know about to like try stuff out or something pls let me know, it would be great to see this map just get awesome and have like an gigantic milsim over the world

Because "Smoothen terrain" is probably the most suggested fix here, let me give you my suggestion/tips on cities;

1. Add major cities as in the scale of villages/towns. A very obscure example (but the only one I could come up with) is The Crew. Exaggerated city sizes in a scaled down, condensed map. For example Los Angeles taking up one sixth of California

2. Though scaled down, the cities should be accurate (though this would require a team or MANY days of work)
Some examples
-London should have 4-6 buildings, 2-3 on each side of a small river Thames, then some houses across the street from those buildings
-Moscow should have a sort of web shape made of roads and at the center have the red square
-New York should have Manhattan as a long thin stretch land. Enough to fit 1 road down the middle of the land and have buildings on either side but also have Long Island as a seperate island.
Pretty much just make cities look unique and recognizable as the representation of the city.

3. And this last one will more than likely require help; Landmarks. Tiny Statue of Liberty, tiny eiffel tower, Tiny Christ over Rio De Janeiro, Tiny Leaning tower of Pisa (tiny lasagna)

4. If you can't fit entire towns within borders of small countries, like Belgium or Azerbaijan, just add like 2 buildings where the real life capitals lie.

5. Custom buildings to distinguish architecture. 's about it for this one, just don't put European buildings in China or something.

And that's about all the ideas I have. Good luck with the project, Tactical Sausage.

First off, think of how other maps have many small towns with a few large cities. This will help you add more to the map, but also keeping things simple and easy to work with.

1) (I'm not certain if you planned on this) If possible, extend the terrain vertically. I'm not sure what the big "ocean" is to the north of everything. Extending it would allow you to make slightly larger towns for the capitals of each country.

2) Have a capital city + 2-3 small towns in each country/region. Some cities like Moscow could also use slight expansion. Have some apartment buildings along with a factory and supermarket.

3) I noticed textures where things should be, like in northern Canada, water textures just cover the land, add some water with small cabins/towns and do the same for similar places.

4) (This one I've seen many times) But the terrain needs to be smoothed out. Hawaii is a death spike protruding from the ocean.

5) Give small details to each region to bring out their cultures and personalities. The Oil field and the estate in Saudi Arabia is a great example.

I understand things like these take a huge amount of time. I just hope there's work done on this map. There's extreme potential for this to be one of the greatest maps for Arma. Good luck.

With the potential of repeating some things, i did find some things you might be able to improve.

  • I'm not sure of how you could improve on this but proportions are kind of wierd. I realize that the map can only be flat but it might actually be better if you use another map projection since africa for example is too small compared to europe for example.
  • Mountains and coasts are inprecice. A lot of the time you will see that the coasts are really high compared to the water level, could perhaps be solved by simply smootning them (also might be noteworthy that i have no idea of what features the map editor you use has). Also the mountains are too spiky, looks pretty bad, especially when you go to Iran and Afganistan.
  • As i know a lot of people have pointed out, the top has a very high amount of empty space, i sugest that you use it or remove it somehow.

    otherwise i think its a great map and a great idea. With work and time it might become really cool! keep up the good work!

I cannot remove the top part, since arma can only support perfectly square terrains, ive covered it up the best i can

there is a flying statue in warsaw, and cape town is just not stright. there was grass on the autralian runway. suez and pama should both have openings large enough for a large ship, say the cup frigate, to pass. coastal ciies needs harbours. probably not aa prority now but the airports could use some fences and a proper checkpoint. also a somewhat wider panama would be good for traffic, connecting north and south america and still have some space for rural buildings. some cities could be a bit larger, just to feel more like one. also, more entrable buildings in them would be nice. at last, some islands like UK could be a bit larger, even a bit out of scale, for the sake of usability.

i see much potensial in this map, good work. also i made a small antarctic weatherstation you can take. probably not what you need most,but its somthing

some with gibraltar as sueez and panama, not wide eough for large ships

paris-moscow and some of american road is a roller coaster


yet more edit:
also, the airports are to narrow. landing anny larger aircraft will be catastrophic because the buildmas is to close to the runway, and the runways are maybe a bit short
