PantsOptional is currently looking for new active and casual players. Our Shigo Islands season started last week and it is still really fresh! This group of players has been around well over a year and are some of the friendliest people you'll ever meet. I joined almost a year ago and have tripled my Ark hours on this server alone. We aim to have fair rates to keep the game challenging but not tedious. This season brings in the Capitalism series of mods and Auctioneer, allowing players to progress the way they want, doing what they want.

Server Rates
-Max Player level is 151, Max Wild Dino level is 300. -Harvest rate is 2.5x current official rates (5x old rates) -Experience rate is 1.5x current official rates (3x old rates) -Taming rates are at 3.5x current official rates (7x old rates) -Platform saddle multiplier x5 or more structure count, turrets allowed on platforms -Resource decay at x2. This means prime meat, eggs, etc spoil 2x slower -All tribe members may care for baby dinos (anyone can help with imprint bonus) -Flyer carry enabled for wild dinos -5x baby maturing and hatching speed, babies consume 33% normal food. -Dinos lay eggs twice as often and poop 30% more than normal -Hair grows at 20% the normal rate -Crops grow at 3x normal rate and decay half as fast. -Easier to care for baby dinos. Less imprints needed and lowest possible penalty for missed imprinting. -Structures take 75% less damage from wild dinos
Player Rules -No –ism language. Swearing is fine as long as it isn’t at other players -No graphic sexual language -No tame or kill stealing. To secure a kill or a tame, it must be called out in global chat by the tribe who wants it. You must call the approximate coordinates, gender, level and species. You then have 15 minutes to KO the dino before others can involve themselves. -Trolling others will be rewarded if funny, but punished if not. Risk vs reward. -Griefing is not allowed. Bans will be swift and merciless -Drama will not be tolerated. -Server Admins are volunteers and are not obligated to replace items or solve problems and do so at their own discretion.
Base Rules -No more than 1 base per tribe. Outposts must be built on platform saddle dinos or rafts. Campfires and other temporary structures should be demolished as soon as possible. Admins may demolish abandoned or temporary structures if the owner is offline. -Each tribe base must be within render distance of each edge. Dispensations may be allowed at admin discretion. The general rule is that a base can be as large as necessary as long as it serves a purpose, we understand the need for large tribes to have a lot of room. However, this rule is preceded by all other rules. If a tribe needs more space or wants to build somewhere and your tribe is exceeding the normal base size then you must make adjustments to allow that tribe to use the space. -Tribe bases may not be within render range of an existing tribe base unless agreed by both tribes
No Build Zones
-High density metal/crystal/obsidian/pearl areas that would obstruct respawns of minerals or obstruct player access to these resources. -Obelisks (Runestones in this Map) -Inside any artifact caves -Fukaso Island bridge temple ruins and wyvern crater including edges.
Currency
This server will utilize the Capitalism series of mods. We are using only the player trade and NPC(server) buy/sell tables. The idea is that players will use the respective named tables to sell resources, crops, meats, etc. to the mod in exchange for Glory Coin (GC). This coin can be used to buy resources, gear, and even dinos from other players at their tables or exchanged for certain resources from ‘buy’ tables. These may be used for purchasing event items in the future. Each resource from seeds all the way to precious metal has a set coin value conversion rate that may change based on testing or demand.
Resource buy and sell tables can be crafted with a few mid-game resources to get started. All other types of buy/sell tables will be available on each island at a designated location. These other tables may also be crafted using glory coins if players wish to have personal markets.
An auction house mod is being deployed to allow players to list items for sale and name their price in resources or coin. Players will need to craft a mailbox (engram available at level 10) in order to receive purchased goods. This will be a good way to trade items with the rest of the server without traveling.
Mod Adjustments Upgrade Station is not balanced for vanilla Ark. instead of getting rid of it, we made some changes. You can use it to upgrade up to 2 tiers above primitive and the augment and blueprint station will function the same as always and upgrade items to values within their tier. This preserves the high value of Journeyman/Mastercraft/Ascendant gear to be bought and sold by players. On any upgrade you have a 5% chance to trigger the quality skip which technically allows you to have a chance at tier 3. Salvaging will also work as normal and yield a 25% resource return.
New to this season: S+ has been modified to not require foundation support - have fun! Show off some crazy builds!

Our experience with past Ark servers have always resulted in unforeseen wipes or shutdowns. We want to alleviate that here with our server by providing a long term no-wipe server with a vast range of experience by the admins. We've established a small community thus far and look to continue growth and are always accommodating to new and experienced players alike.
