Additionally, we plan on releasing a TON of new heroes and there isn't really a good system in place within TTS to add new DLC purchases. Let's fast forward 5 years from now when we have 40+ heroes--we can't give away 5 yrs of work for a single one-time TTS purchase...

I'm a software developer, so a more likely scenario is that we create our own official game in Steam. It would probably be free and include small micro transactions for each new hero you chose to add to your library beyond the free initial ones.

But for the immediate future, purchasing the physical copy is the only way to unlock the Paladin and Monk. And we will be releasing the Tactician, Dark Pirate, Artificer, Siren, Samurai, and a few still to be announced all within the next 6 months =D

You could add the Monk/Paladin to a private workshop file, and send the keys out to only those who preorder. It doesn't completly solve the privacy problem, but it doesn't make it public either.

I would really appreciate this not just for the extra characters, but to make it playable as a 6-player game. My gaming group on tts is up to 6 people sometimes, so i'd really like to include everyone :)

@NateJC you can talk with TTS devs and make it into official DLC so you can earn money from every purchase. win-win for everyone.

I would totally pay for more heroes, either via TTS or a standalone steam game. I love that there's a scripted free version, but I think a paid option with more heroes via TTS DLC would be awesome. I understand piracy is a concern, but maybe just release like Season 1 as a DLC on Steam as Season 2 becomes available in physical form and then consider keeping digital versions available a release cycle behind.

My friends and I have only played this game twice now, but I am completely enthralled with it. I'd pay full price for a digital version of this that my friends and I can play with through TTS, or a stand alone game. Maybe through Remote Play or something.

I want a digital version too! I very much wish we had it done today. We will certainly keep you posted as we solidify our plans for an official digital version.

I joined a random game with all of the characters and then got the official mod and man, was that a let down! I understand the desire to protect your IP, but stuff like this only affects people who are trying to play by the rules/pay you. Pirates are still going to play with the full version. I own everything that's out and have some stuff on the way. I just can't play in person right now because of the pandemic and it's one of my favorite games to play with my family and most of our favorite characters aren't even in the mod :( What is your opinion of people who own all of the physical product finding and using the unofficial mods?

Yeah please make a steam game, or somehow add dlcs (Maybe by making this game official dlc of TTS as someone said above).

I know they have a signup petition on the website to show support for a digital version... I know the second it's released im gonna be buying it and all the dlc if they go the route of free with microtransactions... though it would be nice if they do go that route that they maybe send out the keys to people who have already bought the game. seeing as i have dta, and season 2... and about to be buying the season 1 battle chest even though i already have most of the heros from the season and just want the swirl dice.

also really hoping that they continue with DTA and include it in the digital version as DLC, cause gooooood god, is that addicting.

Can someone explain this logic for TTS games? People playing here are either here to test (and so having them able to test increasses the chances of a purchase. I have myself bought a physical copy of a game I tested on TTS that I wouldn't buy if I couldn't test it here) or they just can't get/play the physical copy. TTS is totally different from a physical game and having it here, even if unofficial (or piracy, as they say), will not be affecting the sales negatively.

This game is just being released in my country, but since I can't play with these 2 characters that are being launched I will most likely not buy. One less sale just because "pIrAcY iS bAd".
