Hoverdrive floats away.
When I parent the Hoverdrive to a Gate on the base plate, then enter the vehicle, the Hoverdrive starts floating around.

So you activate the hoverdrive when you get in and without any further inputs it floats off? Does it just float along the ground in a random direction or float away into the air, or what?

I wired the Hoverdrive to activate when the Pod Controller was Active, but when I get in, it floats away into the air. It doesn't fall when I leave the vehicle, either.
This only happens when I parent the Hoverdrive to a Gate using the Multi-Parent Tool. When the Hoverdrive is not parented, it stays put, but turns way too fast.
Also, if it matters, the vehicle weighs 8.3 tons.

Alright, I've been testing out a few different setups and the only time I could get it to float away was when I was parenting/welding a prop on underneath of the baseplate and then turning it on without copying it and pasting it again. Just copy-pasting it again fixes that issue up.

Also at 8.3 tons you should be using a micro reactor and a light hoverdrive if you are looking to not move too fast.

Did you make sure to copy and paste it after making changes to give it a test again? If you are still having issues I'd probably have to take a look at it personally to figure out the problem.
Sorry for the late response, but I think I know what was causing the issue: I Multi-Parented the Hoverdrive and Reactor after wiring everything up and linking the drive to the Reactor. When I perform the steps in the order shown in the video, the Hoverdrive works fine. Though, I must ask, what purpose does Multi-Parenting actually serve?

When you parent a prop to the gate it no longer has to calculate its own physics and instead is locked to the parent prop. Its pretty much a requirement so that CPUs don't melt with higher prop constructions and also keeps vehicles looking stable rather than wobbly like welds sometimes allow.
So, now I've run into a new problem; Adv Duplicator 2 doesn't save Multi-Parented props.
EDIT: Unless I area-copy. Then it's fine saves everything but chips, Pod/Camera Controllers, and the Sensor.

When you parent things tick the "no collide" box, this will cause a no collide constraint to be made between the prop and its parent so that advanced duplicator can realize they are connected without needing area copy. That said, I'm entirely unsure why you wouldn't be saving the electronics unless your area dupe size is just too small and leaving them out.
