Adding custom skins?
Excuse me if I seem daft, but how exactly do I replace your template skins on each of the models? If anyone could answer, that'd be real swell.

i don't think you can do that in gmod :redapple:
You can using texturegroups and doing what TDMCars does, they give you a template and you fill it out make the vtf and vmt files to have texture groups using $texturegroup.

There are 2 blank textures for every model so you can do custom textures easely in SFM, but i dont know how to do that in Gmod without recompiling it. :redapple:
I was able to create a custom skin without replacing any others just by using skin 4 and 5, all you need to do is use vtfedit and replace your big_box_v1_cover_custom_1 texture, or for whatever you are trying to replace and use it as a template and then overide it. No need to decompile or recompile, all we need to know is where the custom empty box textures are located and we can replace them.

There's a tool called SubMaterial which allows to change each texture on a model. You just need to create a texture, save it in GMod and you can use it without replacing the original texture!
