Lampyre, looking for some artistic/gameplay suggestions!

Current design idea.......

- mid/long range grenade(explosive larvae) type (anti infantry and vehicle like an grenade launcher)
- no melee or close quarters abilities
- weak armor (relative to arachnid)

- slow moving (relative to arachnid)
- can't crouch or crawl (since it is already so low to the ground)
- can't climb?
- jumps over obstacles

Looks cool, is it a ranged type? If so that might be a good counter for the humans' vehicles.

Kinda the idea, based off the lighting bug and blazer bugs from the book Armor. Updated post description to give a bit more detail.

Also by "jumps over obstacles" do you mean like hop over things? that'd be so fun to bounce around as a sort of emergancy escape or to dodge a rocket. (considering they have no melee)

Maybe give them a really close range weapon like an acid spitter with a longish cooldown
(like a shotgun)

Cool ideas, as for the hopping I meant more or less it's climb over animation would look like it jumps. No clue how to add a new function to the game engine like evasive manuevers....maybe something with replacing the prone dive animation?...something to think about!

The general direction as of now is that the Troopers are a multipurpose/function and the Bugs are one trick ponies. I definitely want to add some acid spitting or plasma throwupping type Bug, the shotgun is a great place to start for that thanks for the idea!

Very rare mortar bugs/hive things could be a thing. Would move really slow, if at all. Deploy maybe?
If I HAD to make a suggestion, I'd say give the bug a sort of scorpion-like tail similar to the scorpion bug?

I'm thinking that your are right....but might not possible with the way voxel editor works.

Couldnt you possibly make it so the top of the tail is the players head and make the tail go down the "Body" of the player and make the feet the rest of the scorpion?

Sick idea that could totally work model wise. Shooting may be in an issue as I think it is hardcoded to the forearm being parralell to xz plane.
