Colonizeable Home System - Readme for an optional mod
CHS is event based and fires after game start, so your initial look will not indicate colonizable worlds until you play the game. The first event gives everything in your home system 10% habitability for you, and fires during the first month. The second event fires at the first month turnover and gives an additional 40% to allow you to colonize, but that modifier disappears once you actually colonize the planet. So your first pop will get 10 percent happiness from the 10 percent home system habitability modifier.

Build a hab building, and the planets hab won't change, but your pop will go to 25 percent happiness due to habitability. Build more hab buildings as needed until they settle down.

You'll only get 25 tiles on oversized (26+) worlds, but they do exist. You can garrison them with oversized numbers of armies. Unclear whether now with global food you'll get invisible unemployed pops past 25.

Can you roll this into your main mod here? It isn't getting updated anymore. Also, you will likely need to raise the weight of the hab buildings in the eyes of the AI. I played a 100 year long game and took over everyone because they could barely leave their home system due to revolts. They apparently would never build the hab buildings. In addition, you will likely need to have that mod add resources to those worlds as well so they can have a basic production.

It's on my task list. Mal keeps on me to focus on getting our own house in order before adopting any orphan mods.

Seems like a reasonable course of action. I'll keep my eye on this mod, though. Lets see where it takes things!

One day I hope to make it so that filling a barren world in your home system triggers an event that makes barren colonization a tech option. Possibly also crib from The Belt and have it mod some of your pops on that barren homeworld to have barren planet preference like asteroid preference in The Belt
