elemental dodos

hi im new to this mod but i keep getting killed by elemental dodos is there way of killing them without getting too close

They have a timer after they agro on when they will explode, just try to find a Rock they cant climb and wait it out, its like 15- 20 second timer.

i shoot them with arrows and they explode at a distance
