Tek Dinosaurs gathering

I have made my first tek dinosaur and it is a raptor but when it kills other creatures it only collects element shards and not meat. does it still eat meat or does it now eat shards as its only collecting shards from other creatures atm.

it only collects shards and only eats meat as far as i remember i played this long back when it came out blitz could have done some changes
