General faiure
crashes on universe when loading a game, then screen fades black quickly and brings me back to deskrop with a general failure window on it

two things, it seems with the second update that putting in the CIS will, no matter what, crash the game. If you're having problems otherwise, I'd try going to the game's folder and deleting the warlord's mod folder and then redownloading it, there are often problems with steam when mods are updated.
