Balancing For SW:Warlords V.045+
This thread is for Balancing and anything related. Such as Play testing/examinations of how well certain ships do VS other ships. Any and all Discussions, thoughts, and ideas related to Balancing are welcome.

-EvilJedi has asked for help Balancing. Stating that the more time he spends on Balancing and Bug Hunting, means the Less time he has for adding in new content. Like ships for example.

Here are 2 quote's I'm reposting that Eviljedi Posted in 2 different web sites.

small update to the mod, added a new gametype to test ships vs one another "balanceTest". You can select up up to 4 different ships from any faction and up to 15 of each ship type for a 2vs 2 battle, it still needs a bit of work to be fully useful for testing, but makes it way easier to find ships that are borken or are not working well. only a few minor fixes otherwise

added a balance testing mode that allows selecting up to four different classes of ships to fight on two factions(up to 15 of each ship)

please let me know the results of ship vs ship battles in 1 on 1 or 1 on Many to see what is broken. I should have added this a long time ago as it really helps to find ships that do not function right.

Edit:
@Devs.
Feel Free to Pin this thread so it's Not lost in cludder. Also feel free to Create a New version of this thread, when the time comes for the New Version of this mod. Assuming you want a new thread to discuss the Current Balances of Future Versions.

Please post experiences with specific ships in the balance testing mode. I need to know the following

Mod version # you have
which ships and how many on each side.
How the battle was started or controlled (did you just move to attack and watch or was it actively played)

The main things I want to find out right now are:

1) are any ships utterly useless (IE can't do any damage, turrets aren't working)
2) are any ships indestructable when they shouldn't be (B-wings are a good example right now, they are very very hard to kill)
3) how long does a specific ship take to kill itself with no other ship types (1-1, 10-10, as long as it is balanced) Ships should not take more than 3 minutes to do this except for special ships like the executor, unarmed platforms and the smaller a ship is generally the shorter it survive
4) stright up verses, start with 1 v 1 and then scale up the losing ship to find out how many are needed to kill another ship. for example 1 star desroyer to 6 dreadnaughts. Try this at different ranges and angles and describe the outcomes
4) mixed groups of ships that would normally be played, use your imagination, but mainly want to know how common ships work together

so far all ships that i checked were really awesome. my favorite is the eclipse, i think the eclipse is ready to be put in the actual game and out of testing.

The Republic LAAT's are very hard to kill... Took my entire CIS fleet to kill one...

If any one has ideas on how balancing could be done. Your thoughts are welcome.

Also if any one just wants to fiddle with the balance testing mode that is in game. Feel free to posts your thoughts and Findings.
