Using New Industry 2.4.2 instead of 2.54
OK guys, as many people have found out there is a problem with production and the New Industry 2.54 mod: Industry doesn't grow

The Clumsy Geek did a full season of New Industry 2.4.2 {LINK REMOVED} and he did not have the production issue .. therefore what I am going to try is using New Industry 2.4.2 for my next game.

I also want to have mail. The mail mod for New Industry 2.54 does not with 2.4.2, so I am going to try to roll in Post mod:

There is a newer version of the post mod on 'Transport Fever . net' Post Mod von nown (Release Version)[www.transportfever.net] .. and I want to use that and also the Postfahrzeuge USA (Add-on - Post Mod von nown) Mod[www.transportfever.net]

I am also going to roll in Only Raw Materials (which needs modification for the released version of Post mod as it was written to work on the beta):

I would encourage others to give this a try if you are frustrated with the New Industry 2.54 production bug but would like to get MOST of the features (which are in 2.4.2 and fairly stable).

If you are having issues setting this up and just can't figure it out, ask for help then I will post more in depth info on what I am doing.

I had to copy some mail files from the 'Russian Mail Transport Pack' to both Nafeys mod directories to be able to use the cars. I don't remember the exact paths, but basically, you will get an error when you select the car and it will tell you the missing file name and file path.

What you need to do to fix this error is:

1) Make sure you are subscribed to the Russian Mail Transport pack and open its location in Windows Explorer. On my install it is:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\446800\1165795515

Then navigate to the file path (under the above directory) and then create the same path in the Nafeys directories, which on my machine start here:

1890:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\446800\1360670052

1950:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\446800\1362900735

I think the files were:

res\models\mesh\industry\cargo\cargo_mal_small.msh (and .blob)

and also:

res\models\material\industry\cargo\cargo_mail.mtl

I copied the files from the mail pack to the exact same path under each Nafeys mod dir (create the path if it does not exist .. I think I had to create res\models\material\industry\cargo\ under the nafeys directories).

PS: just check and my 'Only Raw Materials' mod does not need to be adjusted for the release version of Nown's post mod as he already excludes his industries buildings from being used during map generation.

I didn't try it first, and I needed to take out a couple items from 2.4.2 anyway (for only raw material industries), so I also took them out for the post mod. It may not have been needed.

I have been playing this game for several game hours with no industry type issues.

I forgot about this post.

So, here is the file location (note: For Linux and Mac (or if you hare not using your C: drive, or altered your install location,etc,), this will be different .. but the parts after 'steamapps' should be the same):

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\446800\924099338\

Locate the file named settings.lua, open it in a text editor (notepad+ is a good and no cost text editor)

Once you have the file open .. make the change the following variables:

return {
Fab_cost = false,
Person_capacity = {1},
Extractive_industry_cost = 0,
Producing_industry_cost = 0,
Manufacturing_cost = 0,
Base_weight = 1000,
Random_Capacity = true,
Weight = {2},
Difficulty = {2},
}


Once you make those changes, save the game.

does it work ? im looking for this kind of mod, might try it. other version still seems to have bugs
