Merged Traditions

Food for though eh?
so someone made a mod to allow you to get full psionics with cyborg and it got me thinking, could you make it so we can cross over some of the ascensions? I mean so long as theirs still biological remains even a psionic should be fully biologically engineerable and they should be able to have some mechanic parts ie cyborg. What would also be neat is some cross over traits or even for those purely cyborg if they had their own unique set of traits and lost their previous ones after becoming fully machine. Oh yeah for your machine tradition maybe you could make a building that manufactures them so once you place that down it will start auto growing your machine population at a faster rate than you requesting building of them?

It's possible to simulate the ascension perk effects but modifying the restrictions would require replacing vanilla files which unfortuantely results in compatibility issues.

I'll have a look and see if the auto-growing synths with building effect can be done.

Hey I love this mod, but I'd really like to see the following suggestion implemented: I feel that one of the strongest and most important benefits of modding is that it allows a player to play the game their way as they enjoy it. As such, I really love your mod, but wish there was more freedom in trees, particularly being mutually exclusive, or in cases of being not allowed by some other effect (like playing synthetics). I understand this is in the interest of balance, but it's also possible for people to just not use my suggestion. The suggestion is adding a tree that when completed unlocks a locked tradition (for whatever reason). Calling it something like "Duality" or something would work. This would require enough investment to use a whole tree to unlock another tree that was locked, and would allow a lot of freedom in the form of players wanting to see their stories realized however they wish. For example, why not allow robots to have psionics? Is there any reason that sufficiently advanced science couldn't allow it? Why not have people who are both aggressive and diplomatic? It just seems like the restriction doesn't allow players to follow the paths that they might want to from an RP aspect. I think adding a tree like this would certainly help. I'm not sure about the logistics of unlocking a tree that is locked (particularly if it's locked by another mod) but it might be possible to create a duplicate that wasn't locked of any other tradition perhaps? The down side is that this would allow potentially taking the same tree twice, but that could also be worthwhile from an RP perspective. I might also request an "enigmatic light" tree, particularly unlockable if you have a civic or perk with the enigmatic name attached.

I suppose it also might make sense to call the tree something else, but also it might work easier if the tree unlocked an ascension perk that allowed you to pick a tree to add to the grid of traditions, since i don't think adding a selection screen would modify vanilla, it would just be a triggered event.
