I'm new to Arma in general, so this may be a stupid question. But how do I heal my soldiers in Unsung?

I've tried a few offline scenarios, but I can't seem to find any medkits as the manual for Arma 3 calls for, only field dressings. Is this by design?

When I use a field dressing on a wounded soldier (or order a medic to do it), they seems to be bandaged, but still complain that they loose blood, and other members of the squad keep calling for a medic for the (formely) wounded soldier. Am I doing something wrong?
