Stat Ideas
Knowing Valve, these stats may not make it into the game. They probably won't, let alone the weapon. Either way, I like to come up with stat ideas and Snipers need new SMG's so here's my idea. It's designed to be used as a last resort for camping snipers who are alert enough to realise when a spy's coming up on them.

+15% firing speed.
+This weapon deploys 50% faster.
Kills on your sniper rifle charge up a retreat bar. Alt-fire on this weapon increases movement speed by 50%.
-25% damage vulnerability while retreating.
-You may not fire while retreating.
-10% damage penalty.

Good stats but I dont think you should be 25% damage vulnerable.

Maybe it takes up your primary and secondary slots? It would be so when unscoped, it acts as an SMG, and when scoped, it acts as a sniper rifle.

I don't think this type of SMG would work like that. It doesn't have a 'scope' for starters.

+Fires Twice as Fast
- Overheats

The gun overheats slowly and firing speed slows down, eventally it becomes slower than the stock if it reaches maxium before jamming.

This would mean the player would need to fire it in bursts to get an advanage in a fire fight.

It has ironsights.

I've also noticed that there are several weapons in-game that do have ironsights. Although a different type, the sniper's stock revolver and most other revolvers have an aiming device that is never used.

Valve doesn't implement iron sights because this is not COD

Just treat it like a scope. The scope on the Bazaar Bargain is barely a scope. It's more of a lens.

Sniper's... revolver?

Sniper was supposed to have an unlockable revolver with a scope at one point
