T-26 (1940)
Beats German 1938 models, but is outclassed by the Panzer III. Stalemates the Panzer IV; neither can pierce the other's armor, a situation that holds until 1942. Outclasses the Panzer II in 41, but stalemates against its TD varient (Maruder II) and the 42 version.
KV-1
A major leap foward. Has armor tougher then what the Germans can pierce until the Tiger (42) and Panther (43) come into production. Can pierce all Panzer II's, all Panzer III's but the Stug F/G and Panzer IV's until 1942.
