Hjalfaar Valley
So I got the quest to kill Atulg. After a minute or two of not understanding where my marker was wanting me to go I finally found the tunnel to the camp. Took out the bandits, and looted their stuff. On the way back to Skyrim I heard the chime that tells you that you found a new location or something hidden. I decided to investigate.

I ended up jumping into the river in the bottom of the gorge. The current pushed me into a cave. Once I loaded on the other side, the current pushed me into Hjalfaar Valley. I did some exploring and some monster slaying, but then wished to leave. However my efforts have proven fruitless in this endeavor. While I am currently sure fast-travel will allow me to leave, I'm currently wanting to find a way out on foot, and would appreciate any & all directions out of this valley.

So I finally found the exit. Unfortunately I haven't found an easy way to get to it. The path I took was to climb the glacier where the giant ice wraith is, get on top of it, and work my way around the entire map while staying at the top. The exit is by the waterfall that empties into the lake, on the side opposite from the pass to the giant ice wraith. I would have liked to have found an easier way, but I didn't have enough time and was wanting to move on as well.

Also, I'd like to add that the local map remained blacked out the entire time I was in the valley. Not sure if that was a glitch or it was meant to do that there. Either case it makes finding a way out more difficult than it needs to be.

There's a bunch of rocks set into the wall in front of that cave entrance you can use to climb directly up to it.
