The World Of Erith

Erith, is a world filled with beasts, gunpowder and swords. A place where there is a constant struggle between those that follow the old traditional ways of fighting with shields and swords and those who exploit the power of flintlock weapons. This new contraption the people of Erith hold, has shifted the balance that once existed. The old powerful creatures such as rexes and spinos no-longer ruled the world and the humans started to take control of it by killing them off. The more the humans evolved this technology, the greater were the ways they find in killing each other. Although throughout all the trouble, a light was found as the technology allowed massive ships to be built which helped with trading and settling establishments. The privateer market has become one of the most lucrative jobs out there although banditry was also on the rise as folks realized that stealing from others would allow them to make large amounts of profit. This came in the form of piracy, highway robbers and barbarians.
Aging and Death

Aging on Erith seems to be different for humans and for creatures. Creatures seem to age naturally when they are young, growing swiftly as the time flows by, but once adults, they live for many years and do not show any signs of old age. Humans on the other hand seem to age when the person is ready, which can vary from person to person. For a child it may be because their mind has reached the capacity for the age and the child seeks to learn more mature and wiser subjects. It can also happen through meditations. The one common factor throughout all this process is that aging is directly linked with the implant that the person was born with and if removed the human will perish. Even though humans seem to have a high life expectancy of about 300 years old as aging seems to only happen when they are ready, humans still die from physical and psychological damage, as the human body was never meant to be invincible. This can cause the human to just simply pass away if he or she is older than 300 years which is usually when the human’s body meets a capacity in which it cannot endure.

The Power Of The Obelisks

Obelisks seem to control the world and can come in many forms being sometimes just a single pole out of the ground or in the form of some ruins. It has been said, throughout the years and among the people that they control everything from the weather to the behavioral traits of animals. How this works it is has been so far a mystery that many seek to uncover. There is also a suggestion that the implant in the arm of the humans is somehow connected to them.It is still unknown to Erith’s inhabitants how time and it's changes work, but there is a suspicion that it is also related to the obelisk’s behavior. As daylight and nighttime are not constant in Erith, the people have devised their own way of tracking time. They consider a day to be at a set passage of time (1 day real life based on UTC) and do not base time of daylight or nighttime.

The year is 274 to the people of Sheoth, the golden city of the sands, and their newly appointed High Priestess, Aldrea Rhyne, is given a vision from their god Aton.
