to get this mod to work for 1.53 go to
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\270880\965316198
open versions.sii and add compatible_versions[]: "1.54.*" to the last row under package_version_info : "150"

it will look like this when finished
package_version_info : .150
{
package_name: "150"
compatible_versions[]: "1.50.*"
compatible_versions[]: "1.51.*"
compatible_versions[]: "1.52.*"
compatible_versions[]: "1.53.*"
compatible_versions[]: "1.54.*"
}

this should work with any new update that comes out though im guessing you will have to add more sub sections as time goes on unless the creator does an update
