Cities: Skylines

Sunflower Field Growable Farm 1x2
Incompatabilities
Odd incpompatability with mass transit DLC. With this and the banana farm.

Subscribing to this messed with lists appearing in the Content manager; Mods, themes, styles all vanished, leaving blank pages.

I only subscribed to these for a very short time, but I will miss my lovely sunflower and banana plantations. :steamsad:

Oh, I know what that is Got to be Real. It is a bug that has been around for a while now. Randomly, that happens to all of us. It was explained to me that something happens in the ordering of the workshop items. Here's how to avoid it. Always subscribe from outside the game (when it is not running). If you ever see this happen, quit the game, go to Steam client, Library section, right click Cities Skylines, Properties, then the Local Files tab. Click "Verify integrity of local files". It will run for just a few, and it will set all your files back to the right order. Hope they fix this one :D

Happened to me twice this week, with different subscriptions that I've had before. Mildly annoying.

That didn't solve it for me. :steamsad:

Looking at all the comments on the forums it seems some recent update has messed with a lot of mods and assets.

That stinks. :( Since we have no idea what is going on, best to keep unsubbed to these and maybe all our recently added things. Also try restarting Steam entirely. I have weird graphics things that happen now and then, and I have to do the file verification and then totally restart Steam.. sometimes twice, and then it's fixed. It's truly bizarre what's going on. Let me know if you hear of the answer and I will do the same! :)

Yeah I'd like to understand more what's going on.

I spent hours yesterday unsubscribing combinations of things, and resubscribing, testing, validating files, restarting the game and reststarting steam numerous times and nothing fixed the problem...except just unsubscribing from them. It's a shame as I really liked both the sunflower farm and the banana plantation.

One thing I did notice that I didn't mention before; in the assests list in Content Manager the pictures of both the farms were wrong; they simply used a random picture from other assets. Also, when subscribed it affected the music in-game making it sound wobbly in places.

Your idea of being able to have them like a park sounds good, even though they won't contribute to farming industry.

Thank you for taking the time to talk to me, and the farms look fab.

Hey there! I found the answer from our helpful tech wizard AquilaSol. Here is what she told another person who experienced this issue. There are MANY lately, because in the last update they changed a lot of functionality of Content Manager and how it works with steam. I'm sure eventually we'll find out what , if anything, these two farms might interfere with, but anyway people are having this happen across the board without these items, so here's our explanation if it happens again: It's not really a solution, but that will come in time.

Q: Is something bizarre happening with the game? In the last days it has been doing odd things (getting stuck, the mouse suddenly getting super-sensitive, odd road constructions, etc). Now tonight ALL the mods, though I had not touched them, were turned off. I ended up having to abort the game and try again. Now it tells me 1500 assets are turned on. I did not turn on 1500 assets. I had 800 turned on - not 1500. All I did was go in to turn on an asset that inexplicably turned off two days ago.
Now I find the colour correction overide is the though I never turned it on!!

A: Every time Steam updates itself (the program), there's a chance the config file that contains the info with activated mods and assets is deleted. This resets all mods to off, and all assets to on. I have no idea why it does that, it seems the game manager tells the game to reset itself to default whenever Steam is updated.
It's userGameState.cgs in C:\Users\[user]\AppData\Local\Colossal Order\Cities_Skylines I's always smart to keep a backup of that file, just in case.

Q: They now have disappeared altogether!!!

A: That is also common after a Steam update. Restarting the Steam client is usually sufficient to bring them back.
