Looking at all the comments on the forums it seems some recent update has messed with a lot of mods and assets.
I spent hours yesterday unsubscribing combinations of things, and resubscribing, testing, validating files, restarting the game and reststarting steam numerous times and nothing fixed the problem...except just unsubscribing from them. It's a shame as I really liked both the sunflower farm and the banana plantation.
One thing I did notice that I didn't mention before; in the assests list in Content Manager the pictures of both the farms were wrong; they simply used a random picture from other assets. Also, when subscribed it affected the music in-game making it sound wobbly in places.
Your idea of being able to have them like a park sounds good, even though they won't contribute to farming industry.
Thank you for taking the time to talk to me, and the farms look fab.
Q: Is something bizarre happening with the game? In the last days it has been doing odd things (getting stuck, the mouse suddenly getting super-sensitive, odd road constructions, etc). Now tonight ALL the mods, though I had not touched them, were turned off. I ended up having to abort the game and try again. Now it tells me 1500 assets are turned on. I did not turn on 1500 assets. I had 800 turned on - not 1500. All I did was go in to turn on an asset that inexplicably turned off two days ago.
Now I find the colour correction overide is the though I never turned it on!!
A: Every time Steam updates itself (the program), there's a chance the config file that contains the info with activated mods and assets is deleted. This resets all mods to off, and all assets to on. I have no idea why it does that, it seems the game manager tells the game to reset itself to default whenever Steam is updated.
It's userGameState.cgs in C:\Users\[user]\AppData\Local\Colossal Order\Cities_Skylines I's always smart to keep a backup of that file, just in case.
Q: They now have disappeared altogether!!!
A: That is also common after a Steam update. Restarting the Steam client is usually sufficient to bring them back.
