Game appears to be an updated/graded Banished in 1st person
I dont see mods in the workshop for it...is it moddable or...not so much?

No mods, but plenty of settings to adjust difficulty, from immortal, unlimited weight and learning rate to the health points of animals and bandits
Also has third person.
There's some on Nexus, mostly saves but also reshades.
I haven't played Banished, so can't compare.

Even if you played Banished: you can't compare it to MD

how so? Both are raw settlement builders. MD is in 1st person vs Banished top down birds eye and MD has enhanced graphics in comparison but otherwise...

start with some settlers? Banished yes MD no
build homes for settlers? both
fields for crops? both
orchards for food? both
hunt/fish? both
tradesman to produce goods? both
trade between towns? banished via the trader boat on the river

I mean, I havent bought/played MD but it sure LOOKS like a variation off banished or any of the plethora of similar titles. *IF* I am wrong, please tell me what is *materially* different. If I already own Banished, is there justification for spending $20 on MD?
By this logic, why play any city builder game if you played SimCity back in the day...
Why do you keep saying MD is first person. It is just one of the options. I guess it's all in your name...

because what the YT videos show...1st person....if the name should indicate all...then we know what yours SHOULD be

Wiz showing once again why I have him blocked.

So...2 smarmy arse answers to my questions, but no answer that ADDRESSES the question:

What is MATERIALLY different between MD and Banished?

Buy the game and find out. We are not here to convince you to play a game.

I think the OP knows exactly what the differences are but is just being a troll at this point.

In a nutshell: unlike Banished, here you have a character in the world. Because of that, you also have RPG elements with quests, a storyline and survival elements where your character needs food, water, and protection from the elements to survive. You can go out hunting and exploring. Your character will age and eventually die of old age, but if you marry an npc ingame (or another player if you play co-op) and make a baby, you can continue playing as your heir.

Because of you actually walking around in the world. imo it's more fun to see your villagers' children grow up etc. In Banished you soon stop caring about your villagers since they multiply as rabbits. MD is more slow-paced time-wise and also has a limit in how many children your npc's can have (as many as they have free beds in their house, which is max 2).

In MD your npc's will not move out of their home themselves once they get of age and they will also not form a couple themselves. You have to actively move them yourself into a house with a potential partner. A house that YOU have built, cause unlike Banished, your npc's will not build their own houses.

And because of you as a character actually walking around in the world, there is more emphasis on decoration. You can walk inside any building, decorate the inside and beautify your town.

Then a fundamental difference in mechanics is the gathering/hunting of your npc's. In Banished they clear out the environment. In Medieval Dynasty they do not, and with exception of the farmers on your fields, they produce without affecting the environment (so they'll get logs for you without actually destroying the forest, etc).

So yes, they are both city-builders in core, but play completely different.

If I remember correctly, one can buy MD via GOG with a 30 days refund window to see if it does suit the needs.

Edit:
To answer the OP-question:
Currently, it is not so much moddable.

Honestly this game has one of the best communities out there, maybe check yourself and the tone you use before making that accusation.
I asked a astraight fwd question wiz...neither you ,nor anyone else saw fit to answer it without snark...sales over so, its back to being $35 now. Morri finally responded by actually addressing the question that was asked.

Simple questions, deserve simple answers....maybe you should try giving them instead of being an ass. Might get blocked less often.
