Well, I seen posts from people on the Bellwright forum wants wifes, families and stuff. So there is that. Ability to assign workers to set buildings is another. There is more things, when you start look.
It's still in EA...
MD has a more simulation style approach, while Bellwright focuses towards an arcade style.
Doesn't really matter, because the system of assign workers is built up by priority in Bellwright, not assignment. Doubt they will change such a core system of the game. As for wife/family stuff, that is not what the game built around. It's about rebelion and liberation.
You also have the incoming bandit raids every few days to your main village and outposts, and reclemation parties coming to attack towns you liberate every few days. Make it sort of a tower defense game as well.
