If you can't find them in %LocalAppData%\Medieval_Dynasty\Saved\SaveGames, then check the Steam cloud in case they are still there: https://steamhost.cn/account/remotestorageapp/?appid=1129580
I do know that sometimes Steam cloud can mess up your saves. And Steam was having issues yesterday, so I wonder if it is connected.
The fact that you still have some ancient saves, does seem to point to a Steam Cloud synchronization issue. It's often safer to just disable it and making sure you take a backup of your saves regularly yourself.
I wish I had better news for you. :-(
This is a first for me too. Never lost anything, always save plenty and often. Cloud always worked well for me, even after getting a new system all my saves from all the games where still there. And now the cloud munched up my main village. It's very frustrating, especially since it left all the ancient saves untouched. Oh well, guess I can just start fresh and hope it will never ever do that again.
Thanks again Morri and have a pawtastic weekend.
