Merchants Should Only Buy Their Category
It would be really fun (for me) if merchants only bought the goods in their category. Like a cook would only be interested in trading cooked food and the ingredients for food. Or a tools vendor would only care about tools and materials to build them.

Although it would be more immersive to have a trading system that didn't need to use money. In medieval Europe, payment in kind was a common practice, especially in rural and agricultural settings. This form of compensation involved the exchange of goods or services rather than money. But could also include a small amount of money if a good or service didn't repay the debt.

I agree. I have always thought it was odd to sell fertiliser or manure to a cook.

You can enforce that yourself by only selling the things you deem within their category to them.

I know that Morri. However, it is nice to have an enforcement for somethings. I also know that steeling is wrong, but when the villagers turn their back you better believe I am going to steel everything in their house and sell it one village over.

MD need a economy system. Goods should be more valuable when in demand.
I agree with Morri. It's just taking away freedom from other players when you already have the option to force this yourself

What I would suggest is that we have the option to have that additional rule. I firmly believe that people should play the way they want in a single-player or co-op game.

Anytyhing thats optional can never be a bad thing indeed
A possibly less irksome variant would be for them to pay slightly more for the correct category, making it worthwhile to seek out the specific vendor for big sales but retain the convenience of the current system.
