Could you have a look at this thread: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/app/1129580/discussions/7/4038104984915603399/#c4038104984915878189
If you also get the same missing .dll's as error message after trying to run MD directly through the .exe, then install DirectX manually like described in the link.
Let us know if that fixes it for you!
Thank you for the help, but I could not install DX, because "a newer or equivalent version of DirectX has been installed already."
and see what error message you get then. It will mostly give an error message about some missing .dll files. I'd like to know which ones.
(If you launch the game the proper way through Steam, the error message will be hidden and the game just won't launch)
The problem with not seeing an error message, is that you cannot be sure what .dll's are missing. X3DAudio1_7.dll and XAPOFX1_5.dll are the most common culprits, but it could be others as well.
Your other issues with other game/discord is most likely due to the same problem.
You could try to download them manually: https://www.sts-tutorial.com/download/x3daudio1_7 and placing them where the article says (afterwards restart your pc) to see if that fixes it.
Also what can never hurt is to run DISM and Sfc/scannow to fix any errors in your windows installation ( https://www.windowscentral.com/how-use-dism-command-line-utility-repair-windows-10-image ) The link is for windows 10, but it works on windows 11 as well.
