First of all, the first gameplay experience is unmatched.
The world is insanely beautiful, the characters are memorable, and the voice acting is perfect. Every line feels heavy and meaningful. The dialogues hit hard...you can feel the weight behind them.

About the Difficulty :

The game’s difficulty depends entirely on how you choose to play.
Yes, skill matters...but even a noob like me can finish this game.

If you decide to fight bosses without summons or without some broken one-shot build, the game becomes hard as hell. You’re forced to rely purely on skill.
Summons, on the other hand, make the game much easier.

For me, Mimic Tear carried my entire playthrough, even against Malenia, and I was using a pretty random build to be honest.
For some reason, Mimic Tear didn’t help much in the Radagon fight...but Tiche absolutely did.

I personally don’t want to spend hours fighting a single boss. My first playthrough took 94 hours, and even with Mimic Tear helping me, it already took a long time. Without Mimic Tear, it would’ve taken me way more than that...there’s honestly no way I could’ve completed the game.
That said, there is one thing that genuinely made the game harder for me...and I’ll explain that in the “What I Hate” section.

What I Loved About the Game :

The beautiful environment goes without saying, but exploration is the real star of Elden Ring.

This is the only game where I explored this much. I’ve never explored any other game the way I explored this one...not even Red Dead Redemption 2 or The Witcher 3, where exploration is also a huge focus. Everywhere you go, something is waiting for you...a boss, a weapon, a Somber Smithing Stone, or even something you didn’t know you needed.

Even when I found items I wasn’t interested in, it still felt satisfying. Exploration never felt wasted.
Even after exploring for hours, I still feel like there are so many things left to discover.

Honestly, 60–70% of my playtime was just exploration, not boss fights ...and I loved every second of it.

One more thing I absolutely loved was weapons, especially my favorite one.. the Uchigatana with the Unsheathe skill.
I honestly can’t explain how satisfying that weapon feels. I used the Uchigatana for almost every boss in the game, right up until I found Rivers of Blood. The Unsheathe skill just hits different.

I know the Uchigatana isn’t really a late-game weapon...at least not with the skillset I have...but it’s still my favorite weapon in the game, no lie.

As for the story… I’ll be honest I barely understood anything except “Put these foolish ambitions to rest.”
I’ll definitely watch lore videos later. I’m just bad at grasping stories when the narration isn’t direct. But I’m sure it won’t disappoint.

Boss designs and movesets are also fantastic.

What I Hated About the Game :

This is purely my opinion nd you don’t have to agree.

The combat.
I don’t enjoy dodging 3–4 attacks just to land one hit or only to get interrupted or staggered while using a skill attack. Many weapons have amazing movesets, but the real question is ...can we actually use them effectively? I’m not so sure. Maybe skill issue from my side ..but srsly.

Another thing I hated was how the dodge works.

Dodging doesn’t always respond instantly if you’re already attacking or stuck at the end of an animation and that often gets you hit.
My first Soulslike game was Black Myth Wukong, where dodging is instant. No matter what you’re doing...if you press dodge, you dodge.

That’s why combat in BMW feels so much better and more satisfying to me than in Elden Ring.

That’s exactly how I wanted Elden Ring’s dodge to feel.
If dodging worked like that, half the game would instantly feel easier. And that’s why BMW felt much easier to me compared to Elden Ring. If instant dodge were removed from BMW, it wouldn’t be any easier than Elden Ring at all.

This is honestly the only major thing I hated about the game.

Final Verdict :

Despite my complaints, I absolutely loved exploring this world, and overall, I enjoyed the game a lot.

I’ll still say it straight: Elden Ring is a 10/10.
You won’t regret buying this game and giving it a shot.
