I truly wished I could recommend it but unfortunately, in its current state, it's not enjoyable to play. There are far too many bugs and the combat system is neither tactical nor fun, it's just clunky and frustrating. Dodging system is bad and it's always a matter of spamming the attack to break the enemy's guard (who's countering us with the reaction speed of a guy on twelve lines of cocaine, like.. calm down bro). I finally gave up after a boss fight that was absolutely ridiculous against a fanatic dressed in white with two flails and totally on crack. Looks like the drugs were wild back in 1348.

The game is beautiful, sure, and exploring is nice (even if it's always just long, empty stretches between fights), but the story isn't very original (basically: save the princess in distress) and the gameplay isn't quite there.

Overall, it's not an incredible experience, and I'm truly disappointed because I had high expectations for this title. The game should have had a bit more development time and, above all, more extensive testing phases. It’s always tough to criticize the work of a small indie team who clearly poured so much time and love into their game, but the end result doesn't quite hit the mark. :/

I hate to do this so early in but between the demo and starting this I worry that aspects of this game were rushed out the door. Now it's important for me to state here that I want this game to be great, who doesn't want to play another great game? And I need to say that because I think on this launch day there's a very particular group of people screaming "woke slop" every 5 seconds that I am absolutely distancing myself from. We need stories that explore all kinds of people at all kinds of times, and with two great actors at the helm I am sure their performances remain phenomenal.... But in its current state I worry that this game is going to turn away people through just how unready it all feels right now on first impression.

On my Rig the optimisation seems pretty awful and it's hard to get reasonable frames without sacrificing the visual clarity in a way that, especially in cutscenes is extremely distracting; the depth of field effects have massively odd artifacting, the variance in framerate from shot to shot, the egregious pop-in on camera cuts... And a seeming over-animation on faces that just don't feel like they're properly capturing the performances... It feels all a bit off in a way that absolutely distracts from the storytelling and those frame inconsistencies make combat feel a bit... gloopy?

Add to that a menu that honestly feels a bit placeholder, especially on controller, and a lack of upscaling options like DLSS and so on that I can find to help maybe alleviate some of the optimisation here and... I dunno, I just don't feel like this game was ready for prime-time yet. The combat feels a bit muddy and weightless, it lacks any sense of hit which, in a game about violence seems really at odds with a story that clearly wants this to feel a bit brutal. Plus that 5 life healing system just feels distracting to be honest and personally kind of takes me out of the moment in a way that a more hudless approach would. And while yes I am transposing my experience from the demo on to this, honestly I didn't feel much of any improvement between those two versions in a way that made me not really disappointed on initial impression.

Telling a studio and publisher that "maybe the game should be delayed" is always tricky, I don't know the financial situation, I don't know the realities of game development and publishing and marketing in a way that confidently says that there was a choice to do that. But you only get to make one first impression, and right now, from the moment you open that menu to the moments you start properly fighting people, it is not a good one. And I truly hope there's a way to improve some of this because I really do want to experience this story, but not in this current condition, I think it'd take away too much for me to really invest myself in it for now. I'm sorry :(

that game is not ready to be sold!! the first cinematic looked awful and it's supoosed to be the best for attracting players, all textures were flying around and spinning on characters, not to mention bianca's head going 360', also the mouth capture is reaaally weird
how is that normal for a 2026 game???
