Kinda fictional

This game wasn't what I expected going into it (story, gameplay and presentation), having come straight from A Way Out. This game fixes all the issues we had with A Way Out.

Characters are very hit or miss. You'll either enjoy them or rolls your eyes at them. The story does weave in personality of both characters quite well, despite the story being somewhat disconnected early on, only properly shining through during the third act. But that's mainly to lay the ground work for the characters to change and set up the story, as well as allowing the the gameplay to be fun and diverse.

This game actually has gameplay. Mostly basic parkour and puzzle solving with different gimmicks between levels, it for the most part always remains quite fun and enjoyable. You do need to work together to progress through it, however it that does bring up my main issue with this: it often feels like one person does something to allow the second person to progress, for that person to then do something to enable that person to progress. That means that there is some waiting around on the other player to progress a function, instead of working together simultaneously. This isn't the entire, there are several parts where you work together simultaneously to progress at the same time, however the parts where this isn't the case does bring the experience down slightly in certain sections. The overall experience, variety and gameplay still puts the game on the highly enjoyable side of the spectrum.

The "glitches" (optional side content) is where the game stands out the most for me. They are always unique, really out there and fun. The majority of us both praising the game and laughing was during playing glitches, giving us a break from the parkour and current story line. Must have been a lot of work to create assets for these small, optional sections of the game, but they are genuinely worth it and I am so glad they decided to dedicate time and effort to create them.

Desync is really rare compared to A Way Out, with only two instances of it happening in the whole playthrough (one led to a random disconnect and the other being mid boss which led to a restarting a checkpoint). There are several instances of textures having gaps in them, often in floors in the second half of the game, but despite those this game appear to be highly polished. One thing that worries me however, is this game performance during the finale of the game. Both of us own very similar higher end rigs, but both noticed our GPUs peaking and slight drops in frames during the finale sequence, though not to a major point. It does make me worry how my previous GPU (4060) would handle the finale.

Unique co-op game. My partner and I loved it! Levels are diverse and of a good length. Very cool style. Took us 14hrs for a full 100% playthrough.
