[Contest Closed] [UESC] Build Contest #38 - Colony Mothership

Introduction
And here we are. It's been a hell of a journey. This month you already know what's in store. You've been eagerly anticipating it. This Months Build Challenge is your fleets Colonization Mothership. Without further adieu here's the req's:

Construction Requirements
  • 35K Block Limit
  • Large Grid Construction ( Grid Splicing Allowed for Features and Functions )
  • Personnel Areas Must Be Pressurized.
  • Minimum of 6 Universal Docking Mechanisms.
  • Must Have Hangar.( Minimum of 12 x 9 x 17)
  • Must Have Separate CryoPod Areas for Crew ( 50 ) and Colonists.( 150 ) (( 200 Total CryoPods ))
  • Must Have Berths and Facilities for a Minimum of 15 Crew.
  • Must Have Berths and Facilities for 20 Colonists.
  • Must Have Separate and Distinct Room(s): CryoBay(s), MedBay(s), Bridge, Galley(s), Engineering, Berth(s), Recreation, Oxygen Prooduction (May be EXTERNAL ( O2Farms )). ( You May Have Multiples of These Rooms )
  • Maximum of 10 Turrets.

How will my entry be tested?
Your ship will be spawned in an empty world with the appropriate mods loaded. The judges will test your ships maneuverability. The judges will tour the ship checking it meets the construction requirements.

How will I be rated?
Features:
50 Pts
Aesthetics:
30 Pts
Maneuverability (Space):
20 Pts

What is a 'Universal Docking Mechanism?"
Your Universal Docking Mechanism Consists of a Merge Block, a Connector, an Airlock System, and does NOT permanately bind the separate grids together.

The ones that have been used on all (applicable) fleet ships thus far; the consistent docking system your fleet uses to connect to each other.

Yeaaaa... I guess I never incorporated anything like that since I didn't bother with the whole fleet thing. I guess it doesn't apply to me then lol

When I said that it probably doesn't apply to me I was refering to the universal fleet wide part. lol. I have literally just one ship that I entered since the fleet portion of the contest began, and it's a small ship so it can't exactly dock other than through the use of a connector. :D

I gotta include 6 identical docking ports, merge block, connector, airlock system. Gotcha. Thanks for the info :)

So if I don't have any other ships assembled using any kind of docking mechanism should I just wing it so long as it meets the requirements for the docking mechanism? If I get this complete this will be my first entry into the contest.

Yes, that's right. If you don't have a previous entry to match it to. Make a system for your own use.

Are we suppose to attach or dock any of the previous contest fleet ships, and/or is it possible to include the mods for any or all of those ships, such as the mods for the #37 small block dropship, or is the colony ship suppose to be empty?
Now, to decide if I want my croypods on a spinning rotor or on HW Mothership-style undockable/dockable trays.


Also, no cargo requirement? Is the support fleet supposed to handle all of the cargo?

I have to ask. What is a Berth?
From what I researched its essentially a mooring for ships, but I have a feeling its not that :P
