4-player difficulty slider updated.
Download the update to include The Pre-Sequel here[drive.google.com].

The original work may be found here[myborderlands.com].

Only addition to the code was for the new application name.

does the slider affect the grinder in any way?
(for example , would it produce best result items / up quality level / luneshine bonus , more often with it on 4)?

or quality of loot?
(i understand , that with 4 players , there are more enemies , and more loot dropped / higher drop rate for legendary and whatever , but my question is , if the same item is found in solo mode but is also found in a game with 4 people , would it be the "exact" same ? or would the game with 4 people have the item , but also be somewhat better because there are 4 people?

Generally a difficulty slider only affects the loot that drops from enemies.

Just like to say many thanks for posting this, worked perfectly, so now I can play in 4 player mode if I want.

@Wrinkly massive necro, but are you the developer of this program? Could you give me some pointers on how to develop a version for Borderlands 3? I can create programs in C++, if you could describe in english what the program does I could do it. Massive ask, but there we are

Hello there!

I wasn't the original author, nor am I sure where to look for the person as the website I had noted is now marked as unsafe/malware by Malwarebytes.

I've uploaded the source code to dropbox - https://www.dropbox.com/s/u6dndyphfe228dg/BorderlandsNumPlayersSetter.zip

The code does a search and replace on a running process matching a given name. The main issue preventing a simple update is that Borderlands, Borderlands 2 and The Pre-Sequel were all 32bit. The newer Enhanced and Borderlands 3 are 64bit.

This means you would have to use something like cheat engine to find the location changes made when players join/leave a game and then update the player slider code accordingly with the new program name and data. That is of course if the borderlands engine still works the same way. It may not be possible if they have rewritten the multi-player code.

I'm 52 now, my lady 62. We had a great time playing the earlier games with the slider set to 4 when just the 2 of us were playing.

@Wrinkly thank you very much didn't think I'd get the full source code. I'm going to experiment with borderlands 3 and cheatengine to see what changes when a player joins the hosting game.

I downloaded the one off Nexus, and it's not working with the PreSequel :| Can't find the process or something. I ran it while the game was running too
