CA - FIX THE FAMILY TREE
Ok, look. I just played for tens of hours as a minor faction. My leader just died of old age literally one or two turns before my heir turned 16 (three turns per year). This just screwed up the whole game for me. CA, would you like to explain why, at start, a ruler that is in his mid-40's has NO children of ANY age? Fix it. I am so angry right now. I love Total War games, but honestly, did you ever play test this? My daughter, who married a general, has four children now at age TWENTY. Totally, totally unrealistic. I'm going back to Warhammer.

It is unrealistic

the irony is though, arguing about unrealistic stuff and then going back to a game which is based on 90% of unrealistic stuff :steammocking:

and yes CA hq did nothing to fund CA Sofia, so they could support this game until it was properly finished @jeffmd, now you are stuck with this mediocre game

but Warhammer is rather part of the problem and how CA tailors its historic titles now

To be fair, its also somewhat fixable. In my mod I increased the kid limit from 4->15 and theres another mod with traits thatvaffect fertility. Playing with Yehošua, he turned out to fire only blanks and he perished with 0 kids. While others I've filled the cap qith really fast.

As to wh, like I get it, its a business decision, one that sucks, I had wished for dlc fleshing stuff out but..

I suspect the future may hold two tw titles, one fantasy one historical-ish. Though thats my speculation

Can you name either mods? Or recommend?
There's no point in having children, because there's no loyalty mechanic, therefore nobody can betray you and be a rebel. All your generals are loyal, so your family really don't matter.
In Attila your family tree was important, because suitors could rebel against you. In Pharaoh there isn't loyalty.

My leaders can still die of old age, and I like to expand, which requires many armies. Hence 1-2 male sons will not do.

Character Traits Expansion adds traits with -90% to +60% modifiers, had Yehošua fire blanks due to it, this is even on video for anyone interested
Kendji's Flavour Pack nukes the baby limit, but does also add a bunch of other stuff you may or may not want.

My own mod loadout

Thanks man, I'll try it out, but I'm mostly for the baby limit reduction. Man, no way these guys only stuck to 1-3 kids....some of them had dozens or hundreds of bastards. Ofc, when the heir came to power....these siblings vanished pretty quickly.

I'm sorry, but the mod is clashing with others. It's a shame, as I only wanted the baby cap removed.

yep. Pretty much and that is why Pharao DYNASTIES is not a good game. The family tree is more lackluster than in previous ones. When there`s the title Dynasties you should have a fleshed out fam system and court aswell, instead it`s a game mechanic which is another empty modifier, which doesn`t influence your faction. No loyalty, no inherited traits etc. It fails and doesn`t even touch the campaign in itself, just a bloated minigame with no campaign interaction. It`s a mediocre TW abandoned when the publisher (Sega) made a last ditch effort, reducing collateral damage and put Dynasties out.

There will be no support. Screwed CA Sofia over and went on selling their fantasy fanzone. Yay
