personally i was expecting a little more given all the hype surrounding this but eh in the end it's serviceable so neutral/thumbs up.
i do wish rather than being a 3d walkable environment the house was also a 2d clickable environment like the rooms are, this is probably just me but i didn't think the 3d meshed very well. that's my only real complaint.

I played this visual novel for exactly one hour, and somehow, impossibly, that single hour now sits at the top of my life’s highlight reel.

I didn’t finish it. I didn’t see every branch, every ending, or every secret tucked away behind the dialogue options. None of that matters. What matters is that for sixty minutes, the outside world went completely quiet. Time folded in on itself. This game didn’t ask for a long-term commitment or a hundred-hour investment. It looked at the small window it had and used every second with intention.

From the very first scene, the writing grabbed me with a confidence that’s hard to fake. Every line felt purposeful, like the authors knew exactly what they wanted me to feel and trusted me enough to meet them halfway. The dialogue flows naturally, never overstaying its welcome, never padding itself with filler. In just one hour, this visual novel managed to say more than some games do in their entire runtime.

The characters left a real impression on me, which honestly shocked me given how little time I spent with them. They weren’t just names attached to sprites. They felt present, expressive, and human. A look, a pause in the dialogue, a small choice that carried unexpected weight. I cared far more than I was prepared to.

The presentation is deceptively strong. The art doesn’t scream for attention, but it knows exactly when to hold your gaze. The music is subtle, almost sneaky, slipping under your skin and anchoring emotions before you realize what’s happening. When I closed the game, I noticed the silence in my room felt louder than before.

What makes this experience so special is how much it accomplished in such a short time. In one hour, it made me laugh, tense up, reflect, and then just sit there staring at my screen when it ended. That’s rare. That’s powerful. That’s something you don’t forget.

I’ve played bigger games, longer games, and technically more impressive games. None of them have done what this visual novel did in a single hour. It reminded me why games can be art, why interactive storytelling matters, and why sometimes the smallest experiences hit the hardest.

If you’re on the fence, don’t be. Even if you only have an hour, this visual novel might just end up being the best one you ever spend.

Incredibly chilling atmosphere but shallow gameplay loop with little to no agency in terms of decisions to make. Some interesting endings like the main ones and the Vigilante ending, but other endings are so vague and out of nowhere they end up feeling as shallow as the gameplay. Seriously, what the ♥♥♥♥ was the baby ending?
