Is this also true for the logs I mailed you? I can
input I get heavy lag for a few seconds then the steam link picture freezes for a while before disconnecting. While the game continues to run uninteruped on my computer but loses the controller inputs.

A year later I'm having the same issue. Using the Steam Controller. The game is non-responsive on the TV the Steam Link is connected to but it looks fine on my laptop and is responsive to keyboard
inputs. Almost all my other games work flawlessly except for this one.

Really good question that is. Five years later Steam Input does not even detect my Thrustmaster T500 RS
never mind being able to set ps type controller as controller type.

8BitDo controller now gets seen by Steam Input as generic controller and yet i have previously uploaded ps4 type controller layout

I've tried this multiple times now. I pair the controller to the phone, the app detects the controller but no inputs register in the app. The controller works fine to control the phone and other
controllers connected either way.

Solved:
It seems that an out of date version of the Steam Link app was installed to my phone from the Google Play Store. Updating the app fixed the issues.

As Xenophobe suggests, VirtualHere is quite likely to fix the issue if the controller is connected via USB. If it's bluetooth then VirtualHere will do nothing.

But on the Link, the controller is recognized as a "Generic Gamepad" (which you also can't seem to forcifully change...) and the mouse cursor shenanigans start before even going into

so if the manufacturer doesnt supply Valve with the Xinput or Direct input drivers, your controller simply wont function well (unless it utilizes a universal Xinput map like an xbox controller).
