More than just another Half-Life-inspired clone, Synthesis of Corruption manages to deliver a rather short but distinct experience that, imperfect as it may be, stays enjoyable and entertaining until the end. Although flawed in some aspects, the positive aspects still outweigh the negatives by a good margin, making it an overall fun game to play from start to finish.

Very good game indeed. Synthesis of Corruption is original, but in its own way: it does not bring anything truly new, however it combines the gameplay of Resident Evil (slow pace, strategic combat, limited resources, focus on puzzles, etc) with the setting and atmosphere of Half Life 1, everything inside a cyberpunk distopic world. Does all of this sound cool? Well, it's because it IS cool indeed! The retro sci-fi feel is extremely powerful here, and this is specifically what kept me hooked from the beginning to the end. The only thing that maybe got me annoyed a little bit is the fact that the enemies are, for my personal taste, too copy-pasted from the zombies and headcrabs of Half Life. These enemies are clearly shown on the store page, so you already know what I am talking about. Maybe I would have preferred something inspired by them, but not exactly the same, like for example the exocells of Cold Fear, if you know the game. However this is just my personal opinion on this particular artistic choice, not an objective flaw. Overall the game is very well done: the combat is fun and thrilling, the difficulty of puzzles is well balanced, and the overall pacing is well constructed. A very strong recommendation if you are into classic horror sci-fi.

Neat little action-horror indie title which wears it's Half-Life inspirations on its sleeve; If not from the visual motif and enemy design then the homages among the achievement names and even the ending itself are pretty apparent.

Some nice RE-inspired puzzles, saferooms, finite resources and limited ammo keep you on your toes also and gives it some fond PS1-adjacent nostalgia.

All in all a fun little 3~4 hour romp.
