This Gatcha is one of the most generous that exist actually. And the best muscis with a great story in it... and the best boss fights you can have.
Also you should be grateful that Gacha is the way to monetize this Asian game unlike the old-school Monetization Asian game
And another thing that absolutely deserves criticism, besides the character pulling/gambling, is the energy/time‑gating these games use. That stuff kills so much of the potential fun. I could live with some of the gacha mechanics, but time‑gating is just awful in my opinion.
Path of Exile, Warframe, Guild Wars 2, Albion online, and even Fortnite all monetize through cosmetics, expansions, or optional convenience, not gambling style character rolls.
So yes, gacha has existed for decades, but longevity doesn’t automatically justify every implementation. Players are allowed to enjoy a game and still expect fair monetization. Criticism isn’t disrespect, it’s part of wanting the game to be better.
There isn't "plenty" of games that only sell cosmetic and survive. There's only a handfull of them.
And in Warframe’s case, yes, there are optional convenience purchases and ways to speed up progress, but the important part is that none of it is mandatory. As far as I know, you can earn everything just by playing. And if I’m not mistaken, Warframe is by design a grind heavy game, the grind is part of its core appeal. Because of that, I doubt most players are just buying everything with real money instead of actually playing the game as intended. Sure, some people pay to skip parts of the grind, but I’d assume the majority don’t spend money to skip progression.
Albion Online is another example I play myself. You can buy almost anything with real money, but you can also earn the same things simply by playing. The game doesn’t lock you behind energy systems or time gating, and it’s still a thriving, even growing title without resorting to predatory monetization, at least imo.
Delusional.
Pointing out a bad monetization practice isn’t the same as demanding a studio sstop making money. That’s a lazy strawman. And when exactly did anyone of us say I want these changes only for me? I’m pretty sure most people agree that gacha business practices are bad and borderline unethical. The only people who usually defend them are those addicted to gacha systems and conditioned by these ‘games.’
And now let me show you how ridiculous your argument sounds to anyone who isn’t deep in that gacha mindset:
"Are you asking for the US pharma industry to stop making as much money as they currently do just to cater to being more ethical and consumer friendly?"
If you know anything about the unethical practices of the US pharma industry, you can see how absurd your argument becomes when applied to another exploitative business model.
