Do any of the games you own state "profile features limited" or "Steam is still learning about this game" on their store page?

This game is not currently eligible to appear in certain showcases on your Steam Profile, and does not contribute to global Achievement or game collector counts.

Just FYI: this doesn't reduce the game count, as this isn't applied retroactively. Games START in that state, so they've never been counted.

True, but some users only notice that their count doesn't match when they first use the game collecter showcase and notice the number is not the same as what their library states, its not always the case that the number changed, it may just never have been what they thought it was

Steam has removed some games from the store recently, the count that's shown on user profiles isn't updated right away when this happens.

In your case, you bought a game which updated the count.

Don't worry, the games are still in your library. They are just not included in the count.

Hey, you probably bought games with limited profile features. They don't count until they sold enough copies.

I’m having a similar issue. It says I have 7, but I really have 21. I think those were some Free Games I found, so do Free Games not count toward the count?

There are many games that don't count towards the badge regardless if you "paid" for them or not.

1. Nearly all Free2Play games don't count. Unless you paid to make it a premium license. This is different than the free for a limited time games.

2. Games removed by Valve don't count. https://steam.madjoki.com/apps/banned

3. There are also games that are in the "Learning" phase...
